Nick spoke, "I am sorry Alice and Asher for believing that Wallace Burke was innocent. Thank goodness you found this and it will be all over soon! Your Mom and Ashton are at the PI office. Alice smiled sweetly at her dad and replied, "This was all Asher's plan and I was just happy that he came up with it!" Asher spoke humbly, "If it wasn't for Alice not giving up it wouldn't have been possible. We are a team forever, sir." He had his arms wrapped around his fiancée's waist. They didn't see what was coming. Wallace Burke drove his car at them fast. Asher quickly reacted pushing Nick out of harms way. Alice was in his arms secure and safe as well. They all got up to see Wallace jump out of his car with a gun in his hands. He pointed it at Alice and said, "Finally, I get to kill you! No one is going to save you again because all three of you are as good as dead!" Wallace was laughing like a crazed animal and his eyes looked wild. His mind was only focused on one thing: murder. The gun went off several times.
Alice closed her eyes and flashbacks of her moments spent with Asher made her feel comforted even if it would be the end. Asher held her and was shocked to see Nick's gun out and Wallace on the ground. He had gotten in front of Asher and Alice. Nick said, "Always wear a bullet proof vest when you have a job that involves criminal cases. Are you both okay? I wouldn't want my future son-in-law to die on me now." Alice finally opened her brown eyes and sighed with relief that it was finally over. Asher spoke, "Thank you, Mr. Townsend! You saved us." Wallace was badly wounded and the cops finally arrived to arrest him. Wallace vowed when he spat up blood, "I will get you, Alice Townsend! Mark my words. I never will stop! The prison bars can't keep me from killing you one day!"
Mr. Burke was handcuffed and taken to San Marcos hospital to have his wounds treated. Asher gave Alice a sweet and tender kiss. He whispered, "It is now all over kitten! You can rest easy now and so can I knowing you will be safe from that psycho. We should tell Jeremy, Penny, and Max the great news! We can celebrate by going out to dinner with your family and our friends!" Alice touched his face and said, "Ash, you are family now. We will be getting married soon my handsome fiancé! I can't wait to have a night out with everyone we love and care about!" Asher called their friends and said, "To celebrate the black hoodie guy behind bars we are going to go out to eat. I will pay of course!" Nick had just finished talking to Tara and Ashton on the phone. He spoke, "I will be paying son. I won't take no for an answer. Thank you for protecting Alice and always being there for her. I am glad I gave you my blessing to propose to my daughter."
He patted Asher on the back as Alice was looking on smiling brightly at her dad. They all went inside to get ready for dinner. Tara came home to see her family laughing in the living room. She said, "I am so happy that our family is safe and sound. Nick, you became a protective bodyguard one last time to save your daughter and soon to be son-in-law. It's no question why or how I fell in love with you!" Nick approached her with his hands in his pockets. They kissed each other while Alice grabbed Asher hand and said, "Let's go there is nothing to see over there!" They rushed outside laughing.
Jeremy, Penny, and Max had already arrived at the local Japanese steakhouse. Soon after, Tara, Nick, Asher and Alice came inside and said, "Here's to finally living our lives again!" Ashton, Becca, Janie, and Jake hurried in to sit down since they were running late. It turned out that Janie was the hold up. She met a guy named Harry Dean when touring at San Marcos State College. He would be a freshman with Jake and Janie in the fall. Jake thought he seemed nice and not like the other guys Janie used to have crushes on during their senior year. It all seemed perfect. Jeremy, Penny, Max, Alice, and Asher graduated college. The Townsend's decided to take a much needed cruise with the newlyweds. Asher and Alive married two months after Wallace Burke was caught and jailed.
Asher wanted to become a singer since his voice was very good. He got his old high school bandmates back together. They played in many shows all over the state of Florida. He helped pitch in at the PI office on the side. Asher had no desire to be a bodyguard anymore because his life had a purpose and her name was Alice Townsend Parker. Jeremy became a cop while Penny became a high school teacher. Max decided to travel for awhile then go back to New York where his family lives. He stayed in touch with everyone via FaceTime. Janie and Jake were looking forward to college. They would be commuting from home and didn't mind that one bit.
Ashton took over his father's PI business since Nick wanted to focus on his bodyguard business. It would also give him more time with Tara. Linda, Asher's Mom, tried to spend more time with her son. She was finally becoming her old self again and working less. Alice and Asher lived next door to her parents now. They sat on the porch swing together talking about when they fell in love with each other. Alice thought she heard a noise. Was it just the wind or something else?
