Now you may not agree,
That trees are people just like you and me,
But in my heart I know that they speak to me.
Trees are a special kind of people,
for their bodies are like steeples,
they reach higher than the sky,
but sometimes thery are small,
and you can hardly see them at all.
The way they speak to me,
for which you may not believe,
is in the way their branches sway,
like a unique type of music,
but when people cut them down,
they forever lose it.
But you hear it in the other trees,
for their swaying is now sad,
and they are capable of getting mad,
but they'd much prefer to be glad.
Trees love to sing,
and you'll hear them if you just stop and listen,
you'll recognise them immediatley,
their music is a soft ting,
their branches swing together,
you hear the calming rustle,
though they don't have muscle,
they are stronger than you and me.
Trees are people just like you and me,
you must just strive to find our similarities.
