Quinn POV

I lay down on my mattress, just trying to calm myself down.

My heart is racing and I feel sick.

I close my eyes and rest my hand on my stomach.

I just need to think about that night and what happened. I need to remember at least everything I can.

I need too.

*Flashback*

I walk through the crowded house, trying to find Joy who called me to get her.

I hate parties and try my best to stay as far away from them as possible. But, if she calls me saying she wants to go home, I have to go.

I walk to the den where I'm told she is at. I find David sitting beside his girlfriend who looks wasted. "Is she okay?" I ask him.

"Yeah." He answers while standing up.

"Why couldn't you take her home?" I ask David who looks too sober to say he can't drive.

"I've drank some beers and smoked a blunt. I don't exactly want to drive." He says to me. I know he's lying, his eyes look perfectly normal and his breath doesn't smell like alcohol.

"Okay." I say, turning back towards Joy who looks drowsy. My eyebrows furrow a little by how different she looks. I've seen her drunk plenty of times, but she doesn't look drunk.

"Can we talk?" He asks, breaking me out of my thoughts.

"No." I say with a chuckle.

I don't want to talk to him about last weekend when he kissed me after admitting he's been in love with me since the 8th grade. I'll admit I always had a huge crush on him. But once I met Richard those feelings changed. David started dating Joy and I started dating Richard, who I love. So, I don't look at David that same way I once did. I just looked at him as my childhood friend.

"Please?" His light brown eyes look into mine.

"Hey Quinn." I hear a familiar voice say. I turn around and see my boyfriend standing in the doorway with a beer in his hand.

"Hi." I say with shrugging shoulders.

"I thought you weren't coming." Richard says while walking over to me. He leans down and kisses me and gives me a small smile.

"I wasn't. I'm taking Joy back home since she called me." I say, referring to my friend who I'm worried about.

"Can you take her to your car then come back so we can talk? I want to speak to you about something." His eyes look behind me, to I assume David, then back to me.

"Uh, sure. But it has to be quick. I want to get her home and make sure she's alright." I say.

"It will be quick." Richard assures me with a friendly grin. He kisses me once more before letting me help Joy up.

I drape her arm over my neck and put my arm around her waist for support. I begin to walk her out into the hectic house. I have to say excuse me loudly so people get the memo that I'm trying to get out of the house.

The music is too loud for my liking and it's starting to give me a headache.

When I step out of the house, I feel the cold wind touch my skin. Shivers rush up my back, causing me to become a little more cold.

I walk over to my car parked across the street and help Joy in. I look at my friend who's grinning lazily at me. "Hey, can you hear me?" I ask.

"Quinny!" She exclaims through a slur.
