Chapter 12: Sasuke...

I was in the Nurse's office at school with Sai. Damn, Karin got me pretty badly. But hey, at least I was missing some parts of class. A few minutes later; Ino, Hinata, Tenten, Shikamaru, Neji and Kiba came. "S-S-Sakura....!!" Ino said.

"Don't worry, I'm fine. By the way, aren't you guys supposed to be in class?"

I eyed the group, and noticed Naruto and Sasuke wasn't there. Guess they aren't aware of what happened between Karin and I.

"Hey Sakura, are you okay?" Tenten asked with a worried expression.

I woke up from my thoughts, "I just said, don't worry, I'm fine." I faked a smile.

"Troublesome. I saw Naruto and Sasuke watching you get beat up by Karin. I don't know why they didn't do anything." Shikamaru put his hands in his pocket.

"They.... Were watching?..." My jaw dropped a little.

"Yeah, they were watching. Like I said, I don't know why they didn't do anything."

"Wait, hold up. If you saw Naruto and Sasuke watching her get beat up by Karin, why didn't YOU do anything? It's a bystander within a bystander." Neji bluntly stated to Shikamaru.

"Guess you don't understand what I was trying to point out," Shikamaru yawned, "the reason why I was watching them while they were watching Sakura was because I wanted to see how they'd react. Especially Sasuke. Even if I did step in, would it seriously make a difference? I mean, if anything, Sai was already there. And I saw Naruto stop Sasuke. I don't know exactly what he said to him, but it made him walk away."

Naruto walked inside the Nurse's office by himself. Still no Sasuke.

"Sakura-chan, are you okay?" Naruto walked to my side with a worried look.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I faked another smile, "Just a little sore."

"Sasuke's a teme, huh." Naruto tried to make me laugh.

"Pretty much." I giggled.

"Oh yeah, isn't it still your birthday today, Sakura?" Tenten pointed out.

"Forgot about that. I went through a lot today, I totally forgot that today is my special day, but look here, I'm injured and broken." I said with a little sarcasm in my tone.

"Sakura, I suggest you go home for the day. You need rest." Sai looked at me straight in the eye.

"I guess so. I really need some rest. Gomen everyone. And can you tell Kurenai-sensei I went home?" I asked before yawning.

"Sure thing." Kiba nodded.

Sai helped me up and asked Shizune-sensei if he could bring me home. She agreed, and 10 minutes later, I was finally home.

"God, what a day. I wonder how Sasuke is. Hn. Like I care." And I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up because my phone kept beeping, which indicated I got a text message. Jeeze, what a bother. Sasuke sent me messages saying how he was really sorry for what happened earlier. But one of his messages really got to me.

"Sakura, you're probably really upset, I know. And I bet you're really sore too, because I saw what Karin did to you. I'm sorry that all I did was standby and not do anything. I'm sorry for letting my anger out to you earlier too at lunch. I don't know what exactly happened to me which made me really pissed, but I'm okay now! The only reason why I told you to leave and not Naruto was because I wanted a guy talk. And even if you did stay, you would've been hurt because of how harsh and cold I became, and again, I'm sorry. Also, happy birthday.

- Sasuke."

Unbelievable. To think he would actually type all of that. I forgive Sasuke. What he did, wasn't as serious. I mean, he hurt me. But he has his reasons. Guess I really do somewhat care about him..

Ugh.

I'm sorry I haven't updated in like weeks, and this is the most shittiest chapter I ever wrote because I ran out of ideas, also I've been SO busy with school, homework and practices lately that I didn't have time to write this.
