"...so you fucking sent Vincent!...I'm talking about Robin you dumbass...you better be glad I'm not there right now or I will-...don't fucking interrupt me damn it!" Scarlett peeked her head around the corner and saw Forest pacing his bedroom in just black flannel pajama pants. She'd just gotten out of the bath because it had grown cold and if she didn't get out soon she'd turn into a popsicle.

She gasped quietly as she saw his shirtless body and boy was it a sight. His torso was lean with broad shoulders that tapered down into trimmed hips that were exposed due to the pants riding low on them. She could see a trail of faint hair emerging from the pants and she blushed and looked up. Letting her eyes go over every bump of his abs and over his chest. His body was also covered in artwork that will permanently be there till the day he died and years after that and Scarlett's feet almost carried her closer to see what he decided to put on his body, but she stayed put and left the designs a mystery.

"Goose I swear to god!" He said as he stopped pacing and he pinched the bridge of his nose trying to calm himself, but that was impossible. "I'm gonna kill you," He said simply and Scarlett heard a series of laughter on the other end of the phone and she practically saw steam coming out of Forests ears. He rolled his eyes when the laughter never died down and he forcefully ended the call. "Fucking dumbass!" He muttered and she'd heard him shoot insults at this Goose fellow multiple times, but Goose managed to stay alive. Maybe Forest had a soft spot for Gooses annoyances. The thought alone was comical and unlikely but Scarlett liked to think it was true. It made Forest seem less like a monster to her.

After today her perception of him altered slightly. He was still a criminal in her eyes, but he was the only person she could trust, the only person who wouldn't kill her. Or so she thought.

"Forest?" She asked and the quiet voice made him turn around. It was the first time he heard her call his name and he wanted her to say it more, he wanted her to say it in every way. Screaming, yelling, moaning, laughing, even crying, he wanted to hear it all. He was sick, twisted even, but he knew what he wanted. What he wanted he could not have, yet.

"Sorry if you heard that," He said sheepishly and she shrugged.

"I've heard worse," She said as she gripped her arm and looked down at the ground. Remembering the day in the hallway when he threatened Maverick because he wanted to protect Scarlett.

Forest sighed knowing she was referring to his horrible temper he had and he'd wished he could take back every time she'd seen that side of him. "I have a little bit of a temper," He admitted and Scarlett scoffed which made him narrow his eyes slightly at her in a playful manner.

"Little bit?" She asked as she looked back up at him and raised her eyebrow.

He shook his head and rolled his eyes, "Fine a lot a bit," He said and she smiled at the playful side of him she saw. She was beginning to see more of him other than the angry side.

She looked over at his bed and walked over to it. She wasn't afraid that she'd get yelled at for doing something wrong because after tonight she knew where they stood. She knew her place and how to act around Forest. There were something's she could do and others she couldn't. She knew not to disobey his orders, she knew that from watching others fail to. She knew that he wanted to protect her, but she didn't know why. They both knew they needed to show respect to each other to earn respect.

She picked up the soft throw blanket and brought it to her face and subtlety sniffed it and sure enough it smelled like mint and a musky sent. It smelled like him. The smell that comforted her.

She picked up the blanket and eyed Forest and she did so to see any sign of displeasure, but he only watched her with amusement. She dragged the large furry throw blanket across the room till she got to the door and she look over her shoulder. Forest was looking at her with a raised eyebrow and she smiled softly, "goodnight," She said simply and found himself smiling back.

"Goodnight," He said before watching her drag his blanket out of his room and the door shutting behind her.
