*Taylor's POV*

"So are you guys like a thing now?" Sel asked.

"I think...he kissed me. It was sweet.." I sighed.

We sat on the couch eating ice cream Selena came over immediately after I texted her.  That, and because we were going to Ed's house soon.

"So when are we supposed to be leaving again?" I asked.

Selena checked the time.

"Crap. We're late!" She grabbed my arm and pulled me out the door, causing my ice cream to fall on the floor.

"My ice cream!" I cried

"Stop being a baby, lock the door an let's go."

I did as I was told and then we rushed to the car. Selena sped off and we soon pulled into the complex where Ed lived. We ran up and the stairs and Selena opened the door.

"You can't just ------"

"SURPRISE!"

"Ahh!" I screamed.

Someone groaned. "Aw, it's not him."

"Sorry guys." Selena and I hid behind a counter.

A few minutes later, we heard the door open and Ed saying "The dinner was great, But I don't know why----"

"SURPRISE!!!!!" We all jumped out.

We sure did surprise him. "I didn't know people still did this." He laughed.

Everyone went up to him, greeting him and wishing him a happy birthday. Then they all went off to eat, drink, and dance.

"Happy birthday, Ed."

"Taylor!" He pulled me into the tightest hug ever.

"Haha, I missed you too." I said.

"I'm glad you came. It's been so long."

"I know, I've been busy. But I'm here now. Now, go have fun."

After he left, I turned and went saying hi to everyone. That's when I felt it. The feeling that I was being watched. I slowly turned around and there stood Jake. All the color drained from my face.

What is he doing here? Who invited him?

All the memories came flooding back. Him walking me home. Meeting his family. Him leaving me. Saying he didn't want "us" anymore. And he never looked back. But now, here he was, standing within feet of me. He was getting closer by the second.

"Taylor." He breathed.

"What're you doing here?" I asked through gritted teeth.

He laughed. "Oh, don't be like that. I missed you." He touched my arm.

"Don't touch me." I stormed away.

Unfortunately, he followed me.

"What do you want, Jake?"

"To talk. Just give me a chance."

"A chance for what? You left me there and never looked back."

"I can explain." He looked at me.

I think he was being sincere. He pulled me over to the couch. As he explained he kept touching my arm, playing with my hands. His explanation seemed to make sense, so I forgave him. I know it must seem stupid, but I can't be that cruel. We sat there reminiscing about old times. Laughing about the time his sister put ice down his mom's shirt while she was sleeping, or that time we were running around the tiled floor in socks and I slipped.
