*Tamy's POV*

I had to wake up bright and early so daddy wouldn't leave me.

..............

When I got out the shower, I could already smell the pancakes.

My favorite.

"Good morning, mom." I sung as I skipped down the stairs.

"Oo, someone's quite happy today."

I shrugged "I just feel like today will be a good day."

I grabbed a plate and sat down. Mid chew, daddy came into the kitchen.

"Good to go?" he asked me.

"Mhm."

He walked over to mom and kissed her on the cheek.

"Oh, sweetie, aren't you gonna eat?"

Dad patted his stomach. "Nah, I'm not really hungry."

"But I made..."

"I said I'm not really hungry." He answered with a cold voice.

Sometimes he scared me. He looked like any old fashioned man would. He had a long coat and walked around with a suit case. He had brown eyes, whereas, mine were blue. I don't think I inherited anything from him. He was tall too. Like 6'7. But then again, I'm 5'11 and to most girls, that's tall.

"Tamy?" My dad snapped me out of my thoughts. "Let's go."

I got up quickly. I didn't want him to get mad at me too.

"See ya later mom."

"Bye hun." She waved.

....................

The whole car ride was just awkward. Dad kept sneaking looks at me and I pretended not to notice.

Finally he asked was there any specific reason for my 'sudden interest' in his job.

"I just wanna help."

"Well don't get in anyone's way. Especially the new guy."

New guy? Now I was interested.

"New guy?"

"Yes."

I could tell he didn't want to tell me about him. But I'd find out sooner or later. So I pushed further.

"What's his name?"

"You don't need to know. Just stay out of his way, and don't talk to him."

I huffed and looked out the window. It was at times like this that I felt like a teenager again.

..................

"Hey, Tamy. Good to see you again."

"You too." I smiled at Eva. She worked with Daddy.

"Remember, stay out of everyone's way." And with that, he left me to do my dirty deeds. I made sure no one was looking and I snuck into the file room. I hurried in and closed the door with a soft click. I walked over to the desk to get the key that I needed to open the compartment with.

I opened the drawer and

Oh lord.

They added like a thousand keys! It was gonna take years to find the one I'm looking for.

"Why do you people have to be so stupid." I said to myself.

Luckily, the key I needed to find always had a purple string attached. I never knew why, but I'm not suppose to know anyways. So I started to look for the color purple.
