Ward's POV
I turned around and saw Jason lifting her in the air, kissing her lips and neck.
I was frozen, I couldn't move. Jason's arms dragged her close to his body and she was writhing, trying to escape him. She screamed in agony.
Before I realized my arms were living my body, they ripped her away from that monster. Unfortunately, Jason caught my arm and pushed me. Ariel fell on the ground and her head made a weird sound when it hit the floor.
Before I could reach her Jason moved his head towards her and I felt I had to protect Ariel. I jumped over Jason and punched him in the eye, he fell and I moved myself to Ariel.
"Ariel, Can you hear me?" She was unconscious. I hugged her and there was something wet in the back of her head. Blood, she was bleeding.
I carried her weigh to the porch. "Help". After a few seconds a tall brown haired man opened the door.
"What happened?" he asked letting me in. He pointed to the stairs and walked into a room.
"She fell, she might be bleeding" I laid her down in the bed.
"Ariel, honey. Come back" I realized this man was Ariel's father by the way he said her name. With a sweet and concerned voice.
I looked around and saw thousands of posters with waves and paradisiac beaches and pacific waters, the walls were painted with different blues. I figures this must be Ariel's room.
"What's going on?" I looked up and saw Hans coming in. When he realized Ariel was unconscious he run to me and his hand surrounded my neck "What did you do to my sister?" he asked with anger and terror in his eyes. If this was in a different situation I would've fight back, but since he was hurting for her sister I thought it was better to let him be.
"She fell after I pulled her away from Jason. He was hurting her." He left me and walked to Ariel. I could see their connection, even though they weren't twins, they had a strong bond.
"Please sis, don't leave me" I could see his tears streaming down his face. The first time I met him I would never imagine him crying since he looked like a strong guy.
She nodded her head with her eyes close. By this time her father was downstairs calling the doctor, who I learned later it was her uncle, and there was only Hans here, so I hold her hand and sat down next to her.
"Ariel. Come back to me, please" but she didn't. When I saw her this morning in the library I woud've never imagine that I would be in this situation right now, specially with her. She had such a fair skin and beautiful eyes that melt me everytime they looked at me. I can believe this is happening. I swear I could've killed that Jason guy if I wasn't concern about Ariel's safety.
After the doctor arrived he said she was going to be fine and she didn't need stitches. After all, he said she was very stressed and just needed to rest a bit.
"But she's not awake" Hans said raising an eyebrow to his uncle.
"That's because she's tired and scared. She'll wake up in the morning and asked what happened. Then one of you have to explain to her and have lots of patience" he said ignoring the expression on Hans's face.
"Thank you uncle Brian" Ariel's father shook the hand of the doctor and walked him to the door.
Hans looked at me and told me to leave the house, but then his father said that I could stay a little bit longer. I wasn't going to leave her without first making sure that she was going to be fine.
Both Ariel's father and I sat down on the sofa of her room. Hans left us saying that he was going to call his mother because she was working until late. He was a bit better after the good news, but I still notice some anger in his voice.
"I don't think I had the chance to introduce myself" I looked to Hans's father and he smiled slightly "I'm John, Ariel's father". He had blue eyes, figured that's where Ariel got them from.
"Ward" he looked nervous. I was nervous too.
"So Ward, what were you doing with my daughter?" he asked blushing a little bit. So this is why he was nervous.
I don't know why but he made me chill "I gave her a ride home, but then I this happened" I said trying to study his expression, but John's face was emotionless. Five minutes passed, no one said a word.
"You're Carl's brother" he broke the silence. I nodded my head.
"I'm sorry for your lost" he said and something fell on top of my shoulder, it was his hand "Your father was a great man".
"The best..." he died three months ago. I wanted to talk about him but it was too present. The accident, the funeral, my mom crying, my brother drinking the pain out, and me - I couldn't cry, I couldn't say a word. I went to a psychologist and she told my mom it was best for me leaving my old home and come to live with my brother.
Hearing John talk about my father, how they grew up together, how they become real friends, made me missing him so much. I was going to say something, but just hearing about him made me feel good, and made him feel present and alive.
After a while, John changed the subject.
"When did you met Ariel?" by this time he was looking at his daughter with such love.
"Today sir. In school." We both looked at her. I could see she was dreaming by the way her eyes were moving under her eyelids.
"She's the nicest daughter a father could had" he said looking at me but I couldn't take my eyes of her "If you ever hurt her..." I could say this was unexpected but he wasn't stupid, he saw the way I looked at her. Even though I didn't know what it was, I felt like I wanted to know her better.
"I won't" I interrupted him before he could finish the threat. "Can I be honest with you sir?"
"Sure." he took more attention on what I was about to say.
"I know that I only met her today. But I have this feeling, and it won't leave me until I know she's okay." He looked at me with a raised eyebrow "I know it's crazy..."
"It isn't" he stood up and walked me to the door. Before I left, John thanked me a told me I will always be welcomed in their house.
As I passed the small garden I could see that Jason wasn't there, but in his place a small pool of blood was shining under the lights of the street. I didn't noticed that I hurt Jason that much. It was probably the adrenaline rush.
On that night, all my thoughts had one name - Ariel. She was swimming in a big pool. All her body was synchronized, she was perfect under water.
I never felt this way before.
Ariel, what a beautiful name.
