Veronica
After Katherine, I was on the rebound and met Angelina in one of the worst experiences of my life.
Veronica was her best friend and we had met while Angelina and I were dating. Once we broke up I ran to Veronica to console and possible be with her.
"Hey Veronica."
"Hey Tom, what's up?"
"Angelina and I broke up."
"Really? I'm so sorry to hear that, do you want a hug or something?"
We hugged it out and talked for a little while and after a little while longer, talking turned to kissing, kissing turned to sex, and sex turned into a relationship. I felt head over heels in love with her, she was so kind and sweet, she was nothing like Angelina, I don't know how they were ever friends. Veronica and
Angelina stopped talking after we broke up because Veronica wanted to be with me and Angelina wanted nothing to do with me so they had a fight over me and I've ended up with the right girl.
"Tom, you do know that Angelina is very angry we're together."
"I made that assumption, does it bother you Veronica?"
"No, I'm happy with you. This isn't a rebound for you, is it?"
"No Veronica, it really isn't. I am happy to be with you, this isn't a rebound."
"I believe you Tom."
We went out for dinner later that night on a nice date to a french restaurant,
"Tom, I really do like you. I don't want this to end."
"Neither do I Veronica, I want to be with you, you're such an amazing person, at this moment in my life, I couldn't ever want to be with anyone other than you."
"Aw Tom, you're so sweet, I do care for you Tom. Even if we do break up, I do not want to lose you, you're an amazing friend."
"Thank you Veronica, I am happy to hear that."
We finished dinner and I drove her home, as we pulled up her house
"Tom, would you like to come inside?"
"Oh Veronica, thank you but no thank you, I think I just need to go home and sleep, I'll call you tomorrow morning. Night babe."
I had never kissed anyone with that kind of passion since Carissa. I really did think she was the one. During the night I couldn't sleep, so I decided to invite Katherine over to talk,
"Kat, I need to run something by you. You're my best friend and I don't know who else to talk to about this."
"I don't know maybe your roommate Matt?"
"I would but he would just say I told you so."
"You're thinking of breaking up with Veronica, aren't you? Why?"
"I feel the love, but it is starting to feel like how it was with you. I feel for her, but just not in that way anymore."
From the door way there is cheering and chanting
"I told you, come on bud you made it obvious that you were not ready to be with her." Said Matt.
"I will lock you in your room again. Step back."
"I'm just kidding Tom, but you have to tell her, don't let it play out any longer, it has already been a month."
"Fine, first thing tomorrow."
"No now." Said Katherine.
"Exactly, right now. You can't hold off any longer." Said Matt.
"Fine, I'll be right back then."
"No we're coming with you." Said Katherine
"Uh what are you going to do? Sit and hold my hand while I tell her?"
"No we'll be waiting in the car."
"Fine, but be quiet okay? I don't need her seeing my two best friends are waiting in the car for me."
"Fine, we'll be quieter than mice."
Driving to her house I was so nervous to see what her reaction would be, I felt horrible for holding her on for a month just to tell her nevermind. I walk up to the door with the encouragement of my friends in the car, knocking on the door with a terrifying feeling, the door opens and she's not surprised to see me.
"Hey Tom, what can I do for you?"
"I need to talk to you."
"Alright, come in, sit down on the couch, would you like some tea?"
"No thank you, but Veronica, I am so sorry, but when I told you earlier that I wasn't on the rebound, I didn't realize it at the time but I am, I know that isn't fair to you and I am so sorry."
"Tom don't worry, I already know, it's perfectly fine."
"Wait what? How did you know?"
"I talk to Matt a lot and that's the whole reason we even went out, at first I was there trying to help you, but over time I genuinely fell for you, you're quite the charmer Tom, any girl would be lucky to be with you. I was honoured to, and I knew you never actually liked me."
"Veronica, you took care of me for an entire month knowing nothing would continue just to make sure I was alright?"
"Basically, yes."
"That was really nice of you. I really appreciate it, I would love to keep you in my life, you're an amazing friend."
"I would love that too Tom."
She hugged me and asked,
"Want to go get some drinks with Matt and Katherine? I know they're in the car, Matt asked me to come out and say hi to him like 20 minutes ago."
"Sure, I would love to."
We walked outside to find Matt and Katherine just sitting there acting all oblivious to the fact that I had gone inside to talk to Veronica. With that, the night ended but a beautiful friendship was born.
