(A/n: got a little Trans Racetrack here because fluff)
It was that time of the month again for Race. A week of agony from a body that wasn't his. Periods made him incredibly dysphoric, not helping with the feeling of sickness already in his stomach from the gut wrenching cramps.
Spot had just got home from work, a PE teacher at the local High School, bringing back some of Race's favourite things from the store.
"Toni" he called out and was met with no reply. This meant Race was upstairs in either the bedroom or bathroom.
He ran up the stairs and into their bedroom. Soft whimpering was coming from behind the en-suite door, confirming Spots suspicions. He gently knocked on the door.
"Toni? Are you alright?" Again no reply except the continuing whimpers. He tried the door handle and found the door was unlocked. Spot peeked his head around the door and his heart broke at the sight. The Boy he loved most was sat there, leant against the bath tub, curled up in visible agony, crying his eyes out.
"Oh Toni" spot picked Race up and carried him into their bedroom, placing him on the bed. He then went over to the closet and took out his biggest hoodie and some loose checked trousers he wore in bed.
Spot took Race's shirt off and unclasped the binder, which was not helping his already irregular breathing from crying, before slipping his hoodie over the top. He also changed Race into the more comfortable trousers before carrying his boyfriend downstairs and putting him on the couch. That night Spot made Race all his favourite food and held his hand through all the cramps and pain. Race wanted nothing more than to start transitioning properly. He got people to call him a boy, had boys hair and clothes but hadn't yet started taking testosterone or had any surgery as his family wasn't very supportive, unlike Spot's, so even at 23 he faced being outcasted by the entire family if he did anything. Spot hated it but he decided that keeping Race safe was more important than a gain in happiness. An idea then hit Spot.
The next day he came back from work the same as usual and found Race on the couch. He was a chef after all and only worked random hours. He taught people how to cook as well as made cookbooks as well as keeping a YouTube channel and TV show. Toni was so cute curled up under all the blankets watching a movie. Spot turned off the movie and walked over to Race. He knelt down in front of him and pulled out a ring box. Toni gasped loudly.
"Antonio Racetrack Higgins, I love you with all my heart and I was hoping you'd let me be your helping hand forever?"
Race jumped into Spots arms from the sofa, landing on top of him on the floor. They stayed cuddled up as Race kissed Spot repeatedly whilst saying the word "yes" over and over again.
Spot slipped the ring onto Races ginger as they kissed again.
"I love you Séan Patrick Conlon"
"I love you too Antonio Higgins"
"You know this means I can transition right?"
"Wait... what?"
"I can transition, my parents will be so focused on me getting married they'll never know"
"We'll talk to the doctor later this week"
They kissed again
"I'm the luckiest man in the world" Spot stated aloud.
"Indeed you are my dear"
