It was late on a Sunday night when Toni Topaz received a call from the principal of riverdale high. She had been told that Southsode high had been closed due to investigations. She immediately called Jughead to rant about it.
Jughead: Wassup Topaz
Toni: Nothing much, apart from the fact that I have to go to riverdale high.
Jughead: it's not that bad
Toni: Maybe for you it wasn't. They hate us, the serpents I mean.
Jughead: Well you've met Betty
Toni: Yes, I've met Elizabeth. The perfect girl next door.
Jughead: there are other girls at riverdale high you know
Toni: who else do I know?
Jughead: uhh, I'll give you a clue
Toni: Go on then
Jughead: She is a cheerleader...
Toni: she doesn't even know my first name.
Jughead: hmm, someone told me that she has spoken about you before
Toni: who and what did they say?
Jughead: can't and won't tell!
Toni: Jug, tell me please!
Jughead: nope sorry, I promised I wouldn't
Toni: ugh
Jughead: well I have to go and finish my assignment
Toni: you're actually gonna do that?
Jughead: um, yeah
Toni: ok then, sweet pea and I aren't
Jughead: you never do assignments. Anyway, I really have to go. See ya tomorrow T
Toni: K bye
*jughead hangs up*
Toni sits and thinks about what Jughead said. Toni had met this girl on a few occasions but her parents did their best to keep the serpent girl away from their daughter. Toni had seen her around Riverdale but had been to shy and embarrassed to say anything. There was a time, only a few days ago, Toni had seen her sat alone in pops with tears filling her eyes. Toni wanted to talk to her but she was too nervous. She was sat there sipping her drink delicately, constantly sniffing and trying to hold the tears back. The other times Toni had seen her around, she had been with the serpents. So she didn't dare talk to her.
Toni was stuck in a daydream. It was only when her phone buzzed loudly, that she snapped out of it. She decided that she was tired and got into bed. She pulled the covers up to her chin and tried to get to sleep. She worried for about an hour before she actually fell asleep. Soon enough, it would be morning and she would have to face the northsiders of riverdale high.
