Freya watched with a suspicious gaze as the three cloaked figures walked towards her. In the distance she could hear a Freight train roaring and she could smell the faint scent of urine in the dark alley way. Why did they call her here? Why of all places Midgard? Why the dark alleys of some city?

The three figures came to a halt just a few feet in front of her. The two on the left and right held two small bundles. Freya gasped when she heard small cries raise from them. The figure in the center stepped forward and held out a wrinkled hand. The Norns.

"Hello Freya," Urd said with a low cackle.

"Why have you called me here?" Freya asked looking back-and-forth between the bundles.

"Let's just say that the fates hold something special for these two." Urd cooed. With that the figure on the right stepped forward. From under her hood Freya could make out the face of a middle aged woman.

"Verdandi," Freya greeted coldly as the moving bundle caught her eye. From the small cloth two pale arms popped out and a small cry filled the air.

"We've started calling her Tyra, she will blend well with the humans. But make no mistake she is just as dangerous, if not more so than the little beast in Skuld's arms." Verdandi warned in a somber tone as she placed the child in Freya's arms. Freya fumbled slightly, still confused about the situation.

"What exactly do you mean for me to do with these children? And why are they dangerous beasts?" She asked as the final figure stepped forward. As she stepped into the light Freya could see her playing with the bundle in her arms, giggling as she dangled her index finger over it.

It was when a small pale bluish-gray hand grabbed tightly to the digit and small amounts of frost covered the skin to the knuckle, that Freya allowed herself to be surprised.

"Frost Giant." The words worked out of her mouth in a whisper. She took a step back and looked down at the bundle in her arms which had grown silent. Looking back up at her were large wicked green eyes that looked like they could belong to Loki himself.

"What is the meaning of this?" Freya growled. The last woman looked up. Her young peerless black eyes pierced Freya to the core as the playful smirk was wiped off of her face.

"These children have much in store for them. You must hide them on Midgard till they are of age and have recieved proper training. Only they and their companions will be able to stop the great threat that lies on the horizon." Skuld stated coolly. Freya's brow furrowed.

"How do you expect me to hide a Frost Giant on Midgard? Look at her!" As Freya said that the bundle became unwound. She managed to get a good look at the child.

It was incredibly small for a giant, appearing to be the size of a normal human babe. But that did not help given the rest of the child's appearance. She was a pale bluish-gray with small horns protruding through her thick mass of black hair. What unnerved Freya the most was when she looked into the child's eyes. The ruby orbs were filled with understanding and wonder.

"Where did you find these? What are you planning?" She asked locking her eyes on the infant in her arms. It had red hair, light skin, and showed not a single sign of deformity.

"We cannot say what we know," Urd said coldly.

"But we'll tell you that we found both children in Neiflheim." Verdandi says folding her arms over her chest.

"Also they must remain separated till they are of age. One shall seek the wonders of this life and grow compassionate while the other will be chaotic and an uncontrollable force. But should they discover their nature too soon they will only deliver havoc." Skald finished.

Freya looked down at the children and then back up at the Norns. Much to her annoyance in the spot they were once standing in was just empty space. Freya heaved a heavy sigh and turned back to her chariot. What was it that these children were going to do? If they're so important why didn't the Norns contact Odin? The thoughts sent a suspicious chill up the goddess' spine as she mounted her ride.

Whatever it was, Freya knew that it would be very unpleasant.
