Garrett watched as the giants broke down the walls of the school. He smirked confidently and turned to his infantry squad. They seemed anxious for battle. He truly found this task tedious to the bigger sceheme of things, though he wouldn't dare say it in front of anyone. His squad believed that this would have an impact on the battle for Midgard's safety and he needed them to keep believing that.

The one closest to him was Barrett, his closest friend, armed with a shield and spear. Sitting across from him was the seemingly always silent Carter, who was sharpening his knives. Samuel sat next to him, drawing pictures in the sand with the head of his spear. Helena and Peter talked in hushed whispers, excitement visible in their faces. Only one person was missing.

"Captain!" His lieutenant, Robyn, called as she ran up to him. She was dressed in a thick cloak lined with bear fur with fur-lined leather armor underneath. She ran with her bow in her hand and her quiver bumping against her hip. Her dark hair was filled with leaves and twigs, obviously from scouting. Her onyx eyes were alive with anxiety.

"What is the report?" Garrett asked with a lazy smile. Robyn scowled looking up at him.

"They were just getting prepared when our creatures broke through. We have the upper hand, I advise that we take this chance to capture the keys. Our informant has reported that today was their relief day, they shouldn't be prepared." She explained. Garrett knew she would wait for his approval. He laughed and rustled her hair. He turned to the other five squad members and gestured to the school.

This was going to be easy based on the intel they were given. The frost giant was scared to use her power. The new one didn't understand her's enough to use it. Not to mention they didn't have to worry about the goddesses that normally protected the school.

"What are we waiting for men? Let's capture some giants!" He spoke with a silver tongue. He drew his sword and held it high in the air. "For Midgard! For the Allies of Man! For Loki!"

The arrow flew through the air and buried itself deep into the throat of a frost giant. Skadi stomped forward, ignoring the chaos around her. Though her expression was as cold and hard as ice, her mind raced with worry and fear. Odin had forced her, Freya, and Heimdall to watch the attack two weeks prior. She still didn't understand Heimdall's role in all of this but he was apparently aiding Freya as she searched for something. The idiot had left the school unattended!

Around her chaos was in hand. Frost giants reeked havoc and the students of the Academy fought back with all of their might. There were new faces that among them, they were probably new recruites. No, Skadi considered as she watched them fight. The nine of them easily took down frost giant after frost giant. There was no way recruits could have that much skill, not even David and the other experienced students were capable of such things.

In the distance she could see David in heated combat with a scruffy, tall boy with a shield decorated with Fenrir. There was something odd about what David was doing. He was guarding the door that lead to the dungeons. He seemed intent on keeping the boy away from it. Upon closer examination she could see a thin layer of frost trailing out from underneath the door along with several small pools of blood. A wave of realization washed over her and without thinking she ran forward. She ran right in between the two, turning her finely crafted bow into a melee weapon. She struck David hard in the jaw, flipped the bow in her hands and hit the scruffy looking boy in the temple, knocking them both to the ground.

Skadi ripped the door open just in time to hear a loud crash at the bottom of the stairs that led to the cells. Skadi rushed down the stairs as fast as she could, an arrow narrowly missing her head. For a brief moment she looked back up to see a furious dark haired girl with a bow reaching for another arrow. It was only for brief moment though because another dark haired girl, one in a black feathered cloak, armed with a shield and spear, slammed the archer into the wall. Skadi shook her head and proceeded down the stairs. The sounds of a familiar voice shouting, a strange worried new voice, chains and roaring and crashing made her fear border pure terror.
