Song: Endless Love by Lionel Richie
I was laying in bed, reflecting on a long day.
Nancy came over to talk to me about what happened. I suffered through it but really I'm done talking about it, it has been two full weeks and everyone is treating me like I'm a glass about to break. All I really need to do is pretend it didn't happen until it eventually just disappears.
Both Steve and Nancy were downstairs probably making out or whatever they do so I was stuck in my room, alone. In the midst of my train of thought there was a knock at my window. I slowly looked over at the window and saw Billy eagerly standing there. I jumped out of bed and ran over to open the window. "Billy what the hell are you doing?" I said pulling the window open, he climbed in. "Well me, max and my father just got in an argument so here I am... Entertain me," I laughed. "a ride sounds pretty good right about now," I said he raised his eyebrows, "a ride in your car oh my god get your mind out of the gutter." He smirked and we climbed out of the window and to his car.
"Where to?" he said turning on the car. "Anywhere," I replied. And with that we drove.
In Indiana if you drive for 10 minutes you're bound to hit a cornfield... And that's exactly what we did. Billy drove into an empty field and we got out of the car and layed on the grass, staring at the stars and listening to the crickets.
It had been relatively silent except for the stereo ever since we got to the field. I was the first to break the silence. "Can I ask you something," I asked, he nodded. "You aren't a very good person. You're violent and 99% of the time you treat people like absolute shit. You're basically just a horrendous person." Billy gave a short laugh, "harsh," I shook my head. "no just honest. But anyway, you treat everyone like shit so why did you save me when you could've just kept partying?"
"Because I like you. And I don't like anyone else." he explained, making it seem like it was a simple concept. "From the day I met you I knew you were special. Because when I TOLD you to move seats you didn't. You stood up for yourself and I respect that."
"Now I have a question for you," Billy said, I accepted his request. "If I am such a horrendous person why are you here with me right now?" he turned to look at me and smiled, I thought for a minute before responding.
"I am here with you right now because you intrigue me. And I know it's weird but for some reason I am just incredibly attracted to you. And I know it won't end well but I just can't help it." I laughed, I couldn't believe the words that just came out of my mouth, and by the expression on Billy's face... Neither could he."Truth or dare?" Billy said out of the blue. "Imma say dare because something tells me I've already said too much," he smirked. "I dare you to take off a piece of clothing," we laughed "holy shit Billy Hargrove are you in the eighth grade?" he shrugged, "I mean you chose dare so you gotta do it." I looked down at myself, I had no layers on and I was completely barefoot so it was either shirt or jeans. I sighed and gripped the bottom of my shirt and pulled it over my head, leaving me just a bra. It was uncomfortable at first but Billy's reaction made it better, "damn girl," he said. I laughed and shook my head.
"Truth or dare," I asked him, "Well tough choice but Imma go with dare." I smiled, "Yes," I cheered, he looked concerned. "so you made me cold so I just gotta return the favor, take off your shirt." he pulled off his shirt revealing his abs, he caught me blushing. "Oh my God Courtney Harrington did i..." he looked around as if checking for people, "make you blush?" I covered up my face quickly, "just go," I said laughing.
"Okay truth or dare,"
"truth," I responded. He thought for a minute, "what is your biggest fear at the moment?"
"I think dissapointing people. Specifically Steve. I just want to be good enough and I would say my biggest fear is proving that I'm not." Billie nodded at my answer
We played a few more rounds, asking about each other's childhood memories and silly dares like eating grass.
It was 1 AM and I was cuddled up to Billy watching the stars. His chest was the only thing keeping me from getting cold. He was tracing circles with his fingers on my shoulders and creating butterfly's in my stomach. "Court?" he whispered, breaking the long silence. "I have something to confess," my heart dropped, "I have not stopped thinking about kissing you since I picked you up," I looked up at him and smiled. "Do it," I whispered, he didn't hesitate. He plastered his lips to mine passionately. Saying that there were fireworks is an understatement. Unlike the last time, this was real. We weren't eachothers distraction we were eachothers main focus.
It started slow and sped up quicker than before. He rolled on top of me and intertwined his fingers with mine. At one point he was carrying me and I was straddling him, another I was sitting in the hood of his car. But we ended back in the same place we started, on the grass looking at the stars. Billy was aggressive as hell but he knew just the right moments to be slow, and let things come natural to me, this was one of these moments.
He held me close to him and played with my hand.
"Courtney," he said all of the sudden. "I want us to be more than just this," butterflys exploded in my stomach and my heart sank. "Do you want to make this official," he said looking down at me, I smiled, "more than anything."************************************
