*Ashton's POV*
I walked to my locker, literally half asleep. You couldn't tell though because I always go to school all freshed up and clean. My hair was always neat. If I had any bruises on my face, I'd put some makeup to cover it up. On the bruise, not my entire face. Just gotta make that clear.

I was at my locker, grabbing my stuff for first period when Ryder, Alex, and Tyler (another guy from soccer) all came up to me, talking about the party. Well Tyler was.

"Ayeee, you're excited for the party tonight ahlie?" Tyler said, with a grin on his face. He was always smiling when it comes to another party because he was obsessed with them.

"Talking about that, Ryder I thought you weren't going to the party? That's what Brandon told me last night." I asked as I shut my locker before locking it.

"So you talked to Brandon last night?" He smirked before laughing. "Kidding, but yeah man. I'm not in the mood for partying."

"What about you?" I looked over at Alex.

"Nah, we're going to Ryder's. You should come with." Alex nodded. That reminded me, I was supposed to call in sick for my shift today.

"Shit, yeah. Okay. I'm gonna text my boss and tell her I can't go to work tonight."

We stayed talking for a bit until I saw Brandon walk by with some of his friends and I couldn't help but watch. He noticed me and gave me a smile before I realized that I was staring and I gave him a smile back before I turned to my friends and continued on with the conversation. Sooner or later, the bell rang, indicating that we should be in class in the next 5 minutes.

"Well imma head off to class. Talk to you boys later. Lets go Ryder." I said before I walked off. I went to my normal seat and stood for the national anthem and our class did the normal beginning of the day routine.

While the lesson started, I probably stayed awake for the next 30 minutes before I involuntarily passed out.

"Yo dude." I felt someone nudge me. "Ashton, wake up." I then felt a harder push. I got up slowly and looked around, confused for a second on where I was. "You good?"

"Oh shit, yeah. I'm fine." I yawned. "Barely has sleep last night, you know those ones? I need to go grab some coffee before I fall asleep in all my classes."

As the bell rang, Ryder and I got up and because we sat at the back of the class, we were always one of the last ones to leave the class. As I was getting out, my teacher called me.

"Ashton, do you have a second?" She said. Ryder just stood at the door waiting for me.

"Yeah, of course. What's up?" I turned around.

"Lately, you've been slacking. I mean, I have no concerns because you're a really strong student and your grades haven't been affected at all but lately you've been missing homework, late assignments, and even you slept today in class. Which has never happened before. I know you're a smart kid and I know if it was another student, they'd be catching C's and D's but you're still in the 90s so that's good. Just wondering if everything is okay. That's all." My teacher said kindly.

"That's sweet. I'm okay, miss. I promise. Just been really busy with a bunch of after school activities and family activities as well. And the soccer championships are coming off. Been really busy with that as well." I straight up lied but gave her my best smile to make her believe me.

"Okay that's good. I'm gonna go easy on your marking, your life seems hectic lately. But okay, just making sure. Have a nice rest of the day." She nodded and smiled.

"Thank you so much. You too." I smiled before walking out and catching up with Ryder.

"What was that about?" Ryder chuckled.
