Imperfections

Chapter 3:

My new apartment wasn't really that far away from home. Seth and Eloise didn't want me to stray too far away from them so soon. Even if I was living off their money right now, it wouldn't be long before I start working and paying for things my own. I despised dependency.

When Seth first showed my first ever bachelor pad to me, I was almost about to cry. It was so beautiful that it was surreal. Sitting on the 25th floor of an enormous skyscraper, he had found the perfect apartment that was almost near to the suburbs but still within the concrete jungle. He knew me too well.

When I had thoroughly explored every nook and corner of the house, I didn't have to think at all to choose my bedroom out of the two rooms in the apartment. It was an obvious choice for me. The view from my to-be lair was surreal. Literally. A wall of glass for a window, only to see through it the tall green trees peaking above little bungalows here and there complemented by A beautiful balcony that was spacious enough to be made into another room. I was glad that it didn't have bright sun-light pouring inside and that it was a little shady and a tad bit gloomy too. Just perfect.

The other room that was obviously going to be the guest bedroom possessed the complete opposite of the above. Tall grey structures that were intimidating to watch but still held beauty, especially at night, could be seen through its windows. It was a brightest room in the apartment and I would definitely not go there often.

The living room was adequately large and had a balcony that was blooming with colorful orchids and a landscape that was to die for.
A humble kitchen and an almost royal bathroom.
Sweet .

I had vowed to buy this house from Seth someday.

"we've reached " I told Ivory who had squished her face against the window of my car and was trying to scare a kid away.
Why am I associated with her? If only time machine existed..

"Totally nailed it! I think he pissed in his pants. Dweeb!" Ivory cackled.

"you are a horrible person, you know that?"

"Not as much as you... Home leaver!"

I gave her a flat look.
Home leaver?
Really?

"I'm going to pretend that I never heard that. Get out now."

Ivory huffed and sighed heavily before lifting her petty ass from my seat.

"Niceee..." she dragged as she eyed the large building.

"lets go" I said excitedly and pulled her towards the entrance.

"Do I see excitement oozing out of you? Well this is new! " Ivory said with a loud snort which made me halt.

"I am human after all" I narrowed my eyes at her. My smile broadened,liking how this felt, and I started running towards the elevator with my hands swinging up in the air.

"This feels so good!!" I bellowed, trying to live this seldom experienced emotion to the fullest.

"I don't know who this hag is. "I heard Ivory reassuring people in the vicinity that she wasn't associated with me at all.
Traitor.

As soon as we reached the door of my apartment, I abruptly turned around causing Ivory to stagger and eventually fall.
Jelly feet.

"What the fuck has gotten into you? You are no longer acting like a sloth! I am beginning to doubt your Identity now. Who are you and what have you done to May?" Ivory said with a look of disbelief on her face as she rubbed her aching butt.

Dirty. That sounds very dirty. Perverts!

Just as I was about to explain myself, a wolf whistle buzzed through the corridor. We turned our heads only to come across a gorgeous boy who had a disgustingly smug look on his face.

Douche bag. Guys like him are never genuine and never will be. I hate him already.

'don't be so judgmental'

I ignored my conscience and glared at him. Hoping my eyes would produce some kind of a heat ray.

I saw him Staring at Ivory who had her hand still pressed against her buttocks.
Ofcourse.

He smirked at her and casually slipped his hands in the front pocket of his jeans. His gaze flickered towards me for a second or so before it fixated back on Ivory.
Ofcourse.

I watched in horror as he started making his way towards us. Well..more like towards Ivory. She stood up, staggering a little and looked at me with an unsure expression.

I really don't want to talk to an arrogant gorgeous boy who wouldn't acknowledge my existence right now!

'why are you calling him arrogant? You haven't even spoken to him yet.'

My conscience had a point but...

"Hello beautiful, name's Ayan. Are you the one who moved in here today?" he asked Ivory, completely ignoring me. I just knew it!

Wait... Today? Moved in? What the fuck is he talking about? I haven't moved in the furniture yet. I quickly reached out for my keys and unlocked the door with God speed.

OH.MY.GOD.

My house looked so beautiful that my eyes couldn't handle the beauty anymore and my vision blurred slightly with heavy moisture. Vintage wooden furniture had been placed in all the right places in the living room and a wall that was completely devoted to books.
My books.

I walked inside and saw a sticky note stuck on the bookshelf.

I hope you like it princess.
I know you'd rather choose all of the furniture yourself but Eloise started eating my ear away. So we both got all of this for you. We have spared your bedroom though. And yes, you have to repay everything. Its not a gift.

Seth. Damn him! Why does he have to be so awesome? I don't want to imagine what my life would be like if they hadn't found me.

"This is so beautiful that i think I'm going to cry." Ivory gasped.

"aye.. Don't cry" said he. Seriously?That flirtatious son of a..

"who the hell are you and what are you doing in my house? " I barked.

"Jesus! No need to be so mad woman! And this is YOUR house? Damn... Too bad. I wanted to get to know you better" he said the last bit while looking at Ivory.

I could see the blush creeping up her cheeks and I could also feel my own ears reddening but, in my case, it was because of my boiling blood. If you looked close enough, you could've seen a little bit of steam coming out of my ears too.

"I live right next to you by the way. Anyway,I got to go. I hope I see you again miss.."

"Ivory"

"Sweet name. "

And with that, he left.
