The Call

I was walking home with Justin, we've lived in the same neighborhood for seven years now. He's became my best friend since, mine and his family get along really well. He's like my brother, I can trust him with anything.

"Trust me J, she's totally in love with you", I say laughing. This girl, Kadie, is a new student at our school and lately, she's been ignoring me and trying to keep me away from Justin. Its pretty funny.

Whenever I'm with him, she comes over to us and ignores everything I say and tries to get me to leave so they could be alone. When it's just me and Kadie hanging out she's like the nicest girl ever.

"I don't think so, but even if she was, I have another girl that's been on my mind for a LONG time." He said smiling.

I stopped walking and looked at him "So who's the girl?" I said laughing while nudging his arm.

"Well, she's really pretty, nice and overall amazing. I've known her for a long time and I've developed many feelings for her. Also", he paused, "She's standing right next to me"

I looked at him for a while but didn't respond. The rest of the walk home was silent, it was only 5 minutes but it felt like hours.

I walked into my house to see my parents standing in the living room. My dad came over to me and looked at me with a serious face. I thought I did something wrong but nothing came to mind. I looked at them waiting for a word until my dad began to crack a smile.

"Kelsey, we're going to LA!" He said excitingly. "Pack your bags right now, the driver's picking us up tomorrow morning." He hugged me along with my mom.

"Wait, what's going on!?" I said confused, still excited though. My dad grabbed our home phone and pointed at it. He explained to me that they got a call telling them that they wanted me to go meet with them at MagCon headquarters to discuss some things.

I was shocked and happy and a whole bunch of other feelings at the same time! I really needed someone to tell so I grabbed my phone and dialed the first person I could think of, then ran upstairs.

"Hey?" I heard on the other end of the line.

"Oh my god! You'll never guess what happened!"

"What is it?"

"I'm going to MagCon to meet with them in LA because I was recognized by them and they want to discuss some things!" I said practically screaming.

We talked on the phone for another 3 minutes until I got a bit more calm and controlling of my feelings.

"Well I'm really happy, congrats Kels"

"Thank you! Well I gotta go pack. Bye Justin." I said as I hung the phone.

He was a bit awkward on the phone, I thought to myself as I sat on my bed. All of a sudden I remembered what happened on the way home. Whoops.
