WHAT THE HELL WHAT THE HELL WHAT THE HELL
It's freshman orientation and my alarm didn't work. Fuck!
I glanced at the clock before quickly rolling out of bed. I still have 30 minutes. Kulang na time ko for a bath. I grabbed whatever I could before making a run for the comfort room.
I changed out my pajamas, washed my face, brushed my teeth, and combed my hair before rushing out.
22 minutes left.
I ran back to my bed room to gather all the things I need. I reached for my phone and... shit! Lowbatt!
I groaned out of frustration before making my way to the main door. I looked at myself in the mirror before heading out. Jeans, oversized sweater, sneakers. Okay na 'to!
Once I was inside the university, I scanned my surroundings, hoping to find the rest of the freshmen. As soon as I saw the big group entering the auditorium in the second floor, I quickly made my way to the elevator.
"Wait!" I yelled and managed to squeeze myself in just before the elevator doors closed for good.
"Late ka rin?" I immediately turned my head to look at the only other person in the lift.
"Yeah. I overslept. You?"
"Traffic," she laughed. She offered her hand. "Im Cassey, by the way."
"Kathryn." I shook her hand and smiled. "So you drove?"
"Ahh, no. I rode with my cousin. Dito din siya nag-aaral."
"Good for you. At least you know someone na sa university." I said just as the elevator doors opened. I walked side by side with her.
"Yup. I guess," she giggled. "Ikaw ba? You don't have any friends here? High school schoolmates?"
"None. Im from San Francisco."
"Oh?" She was clearly surprised. I laughed it off. "Ang layo! Buti your parents let you!"
"Yeah. It took a lot of convincing but here I am." I laughed and opened the door to the auditorium. The only available seats were the ones at the back. I sat down and Cassey took the seat beside me. Once we were settled down, I turned to her. "What's your course nga pala?"
"Communication Arts. You?"
"Omg, same!" I laughed. Yes, I have a friend na!
We spent the entire orientation together. We talked about anything and everything. Ang saya niya kausap! I feel like I've just found my best friend. When the afternoon was over, she invited me to have dinner with her and her cousin. It turns out he's a year above us and he lives in the same apartment building as I do. It's just that uwian muna siya for now cause of Cassey.
Once we got in the restaurant, Cassey went straight to the guy who had his back turned to us. Likod pa lang, gwapo na. I couldn't help but smile.
"Hey, Dj!" She kissed his cheek. "I brought a friend. I hope you don't mind."
The guy turned to face me and my smile grew even wider. Siya yung gwapong lalaki sa food hall!
"Hello," he smirked as I sat down in front of him.
I cant seem to wipe the smile of my face! I feel like my life is just about to get a little more interesting.
