Serial Killer(On hold)

Chapter 8

       *Sarah's POV*
       "How are you doing?" Kai sits down. I barely notice him, I'm still confused as to how Ms. Miller has my files.
       Vi grins weirdly. Oh no, that's her 'I'm planning something' smile. Kai notices it too, moving farther away from her and closer to me. Oh no. Mental note: no more straying from the mission or I'm  gonna turn insane or worse.
       "Actually, we're planning something against the Evil Queen. We just need someone to get close to her..." Vi starts batting her eyelashes innocently at Kai. He leans closer to me and whispers.
      "That's me, right? Tell me it's not." I giggle a little before whispering back.
       "I would, but I'd be lying." Vi raises her eyebrow at me and clears her throat.
       "So... Are you in?" Kai hesitates, then nods. A grin spreads around my face.
        I hear my phone ring. Oh great, a message from Mr. Machette. On the bad side, he would ask how the mission was going, and I'd have to lie, but on the bright side, I could ask him about Ashley and Ms. Miller and why I'm supposed to kill Kai.
       I read it. It's says to get to his office soon, he needed to talk to me about something important. I wonder what this is about, normally Melissa calls me.
       "Um, I have to go. Tell me what the plan is later. Bye." I walk off with Kai staring at me. What did I do?
       I get in my car and drive to the office.

        Twenty minutes later I'm in Mr. Machette's office, waiting to talk to him.
        "Come in, Sarah." I get up and breathe slowly. It's just Mr. Machette. I enter the room and sit on a chair. This feels like deja vu.
          "How is the mission going? I expect only the best from you, Sarah." Mr. Machette was a tall man, even seated. His brown hair was slicked back and his brown eyes were looking at a file on the table. He smoked from his pipe.
           I gulped. "Fine, I have infiltrated his circle and am near of completing the mission. Sir, if it doesn't bother you, I have some questions." He nodded. "What happened to Ashley Jones? She disappeared without a trace. And why do I have to kill Mr. Jones" Mr. Machette suddenly looked up, he looked, I don't know, scared?
           "Why the sudden interest, Sarah? He looked at me curiously. "She had to complete the last stage of the initiation, which is eliminating someone close to you to." I blinked. "You are going to complete that stage after this mission. Anyways, she couldn't kill her brother, so she killed herself, consumed with guilt. You are now completing her mission." I gulped. That's what this was about? 'Avenging' a dead girl? My mouth suddenly felt dry.
        I excused myself and drove home. Immediately after I arrived I fell in the couch and fell asleep, full of nightmares.
