"You smell nice"
___________________________

Ember rolled out of bed with a sigh. It was Thursday and she was hanging out with the group - besides Beverly who Ember refused to talk to - and Ember was a nervous wreck.

After Richie told everyone that Bill and Ember had crushes on eachother Stan hadn't been hanging out with them. Instead he was out with Beverly.

Ember just couldn't believe her best friend would do that to her. Before they left that day Beverly and Ember discussed her - obvious but not willing to admit it - feelings for the one and only, Stanley Uris. How could Beverly go and flirt with him like that?

Tired of thinking about her problems Ember decided to shower before she left. The vanilla shampoo mixed with her rose scented body wash always calmed down Ember. Although the scents were quite odd to be mixed with each other, Ember loved the smell. She quickly washes up and then gets out, as she dries her body and proceeds to wrap herself in a towel she decides what she will wear for the day

Without putting too much thought into it she grabs a pair of loose fitting jeans and a collared shirt and changes into them. Once done, she brushes her curls and scrunches her hair, something she's always done. Ember slides on some frilly white socks and her white converse before hopping down the steps and making her way out

"I'll be home in time for dinner mother!" Ember calls out only to be met with silence

With a shrug of her shoulders Ember begins her walk to the town. Lately they have been meeting up there alot. As she rounds the corner she comes face to face with Stan - and Beverly.

Ember felt her heart jump at the sight of Stan but then sink when she finally realizes thay Beverly is with him. With the best poker face she can muster up, Ember begins walking past them as if they weren't there

"You look like you bit a lemon" Beverly speaks up

"And you look like a good best friend, but looks can be deceiving" Ember coldly says while spinning around to face the two of them

Hurt flashes within Beverlys eyes. Why was Ember acting like this towards her? She hadn't done nothing but help her out with Stan, which she doesn't know about Beverly thought

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Beverly glares at the girl she once called her best friend

"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you! Why would you do something like this to me?" Ember questions, looking equally as hurt

"News flash Ember - the most oblivious girl in the world - I haven't done anything but help you, and this is how you treat me?" Beverly spits

"Uh- I'm gonna go" Stan murmurs, feeling quite awkward as the scene playing before him

"No! You're staying" Beverly says while grabbing his hand to hold him from leaving

"I don't have time to argue with a backstabbing girl like you, Beverly. I'm done with you and your fakeness. Go find a new best friend. Or just go find new friends in general" Ember spits, speaking out of her anger

"Oh I will Ember. As a matter of fact I already have found a new best friend. Not even a friend. I found a new boyfriend" Beverly concludes, before grabbing Stan by the cheeks and smashing her lips with his

"Uh- Ember? You alright?" Stan's voice snaps Ember from her thoughts

"I- uh- huh" Ember stutters, what the hell is all she could think

She felt relieved that she was just imagining that happen.
Hopefully that never happens

"You alright Ember?" Beverly speaks up

"I'm fine, why do you care anyways" Ember childishly says, going back to being upset with them

"Woah, Ember. What's wrong?" Stan questions

"Nothing. I have to go" Ember sighs, before quickly speed walking away from them

As she continued to hurridly walk down the street she heard the sound of tires against the gravel

"Hey! Ember, wait up" Stan called out to the girl

"What is it, Stanley" Ember slightly groans, she just wanted to avoid him for as long as possible

"Let me give you a lift to the center. I'm going to hang out with you guys any ways" Stan smiles softly

"No it's okay. I can walk. I'll see you there" Ember quickly declines as politely as she can, given the situation
"Oh come on Ember. Please, let me give you a ride there" Stan begged, he desperately wanted to speak with Ember alone

"Well, alright I guess. Make the trip quick please, we've kept them waiting long enough" Ember gives in, after all she still admired the boy greatly

"Hop on" Stan grins

Ember does exactly what he says, she wraps her arms around his waist and almost automatically lays her head against the back of his shoulder. She loved the feeling of her body being close to his.

As the two made their way to the group of waiting friends, they were silent. Neither knowing what to say

"You smell nice" Stan murmurs, she smelled of vanilla and a hint of roses. He loved it

"Thank you Stan" Ember giggles

"I hope you aren't mad at me, or Beverly actually" Stan says, he slows his pace so they would have more time to talk

"I have no reason to be mad at either of you - I'm not" Ember lies

"It's okay Ember. I know" Stan lightly chuckles, his palms beginning to sweat as he confronts his crush

"Know what, exactly?" Ember questions, becoming nervous at the thought of Stan knowing about her confirmed yet not confirmed crush on him

"I know you and Bill don't actually like eachother. Richie was just trying to make me jealous, it worked if you didn't notice" Stan quietly says while chewing on his bottom lip

"O-oh" Ember buries her face into Stan's back not knowing how to respond and becoming embarrassed

"Beverly didn't mean to upset you either, Ember. She told me something when we went for icecream. She was trying to make you jealous and admit something" Stan smirks slightly at what he was about to say

"Admit what?" Ember asks, playing dumb

"That you like me"
