"Best Friends" (a Nick Mara story)

Chapter Six

*Adrianna's POV*

I straighten my hair and threw on dark blue jeans and an grey over-the-shoulder long sleeved top and put on my grey toms. I walked downstairs to the kitchen and Nick was sitting on the island. "How did u get in here?" I asked him and he showed me our spare key. "You never moved it from under the front mat." He said and smiled a bit.

I rolled my eyes and walked to the door. "Where are we going anyways?" I asked him and he opened the door. "Don't worry."

*Nick's POV*

I made her cover her eyes as we walked to our childhood park, where our date was. 

I told her to open her eyes and she scoffed as soon as she realized where we were. "Our childhood park? Why are we here?" She said but didn't make eye contact with me. "This is where we first met." 

"We were five..." Ad said and smiled...

10 years ago... Nick's POV

I walked while I held my mom's hand and she lead me to a girl and her mom. The little girl had a yellow dress on and a bow in her hair. Our mom's were talking but the girl hid behind her mom's leg. Her mom talked to her. "Ad honey, why don't you play with Nick?" I walked to her. "Let's play on the slide." I said and she smiled. "Ok!" 

We both ran to the slide and walked up the steps and sat down. "What's your name?" I asked her and she smiled. "I'm Adrianna." She said. "I'm Nick." "Hi Nick, you wanna play some tag?" Adrianna asked me and I jumped up and nodded. "Okay, you are it!" She said and ran to the swings. 

"Adrianna! You are running to fast!" I yelled and she fell down. Her mom and my mom ran to her and picked her up. Adrianna started to cry and walked with them to sit her down on the park bench. Both of them cleaned her up and went to get some ice cream for us. I sat next to her. 

"Are you okay?" I asked her and she nodded as she looked at her yellow dress that had a spot of blood on it. "You have to be careful." I said. "You sound like my mommy!" She said and we laughed. 

Our parents came back with ice cream and sat with us. I dropped some ice cream on my lap and Adrianna gave me some napkins. "You have to be careful." She said and I laughed. "Thanks." I said and she nodded. 

*Adrianna's POV*

"Okay kids it's time to leave!" My mom said and she hugged Nick and his mom goodbye. Nick's mom hugged me goodbye and Nick and I hugged. "Maybe we can do this again-" "Next week!" Nick and I yelled at the same time. "They are going to be best friends watch." Nick's mom said and my mom agreed and smiled at Nick and I.

"But if we are going to be best friends, can I call you Ad instead?" Nick asked me and our moms laughed. "Yup!" I said and he smiled.

"I can't believe that was ten years ago." I said as we sat down on the same bench that we sat down we I fell. "I know, and my mom was right! We did become best friends." Nick said and I looked at him and smiled.

I noticed something different in his eyes, something that wasn't there before. "Hey! You are smiling at me and looking me in the eyes." Nick said and i laughed.

"Nick, we will always be best friends." I said and he surprised hugged me. I hugged him back and smelled that familiar cologne smell. He held onto me. "I missed you Ad." He whispered and I squeezed him. "I missed you too."
