"Best Friends" (a Nick Mara story)

Chapter Five

*Nick's POV*

"Ad!" I yelled as I ran after her as she was walking fast down the street. No repsonce. "Adrianna listen to me!" I yelled, still no answer. I ran as fast as I could and finally caught up to her. "Adrianna please." I said softy as I stopped her and looked in her eyes. Although she wasn't even looking at me.

"I have nothing to say to you, we have nothing to speak about." She said coldly. "Yes we do! Adrianna," I said and sighed. "Ad, we haven't talked in three months, I've gotten so used to you being with me every day, talking to you every minute, being with you every hour, and then nothing, nothing at all for three months straight." I said and she finally looked at me, in my eyes. Her eyes were glossy and filled with hurt and sadness. Her eyes weren't grass green on a sumer's day, it was grass green on a harsh winter's night...

"I miss you.." I said as I broke the silence between us. "No you don't." She said and started walking away from me again. "Yes I do!" I yelled and caught up to her again. "I miss you, you're my best friend Ad!" I said and she stopped in her tracks.

*Adrianna's POV*

That hurt. "Best friend". How can he call me that? After what the 3 hoes told me? I didn't answer him, just listened. "Ad, I know I fucked up your relationship with Luke, but I know we can be just friends if we tried. But I miss us," He said and placed his hand onmy cheek, I flinched from his touch.

"I swear to god, I miss you." he said. I chuckled and rolled my eyes. "Of course you miss me." I said and he smiled. His amazing smile. "Can you go on a date with me, Adrianna? As friend though because I know you're in a relationship." he said and placed his hands in his jeans pockets, nervously.

"Sure. I'll go on a date with you." if said and he smiled. "Really? oh okay! I'll pick you up at five tomorrow! Bye Ad!" he said and hugged me quickly, and walked across the street to his house.

I'm in a relationship. I know that. And I'm going on a date with my best friend who I've had a thing with. Maybe we aren't just "Best Friends".
