Rhiannon's POV

Rachel wanted to try and tame my hair. I tried to tell her again that this was not a good idea but she protested. I chewed my lower lip still not sure this was a great idea.

"Relax." She groaned

She plugged the hair straightener into the wall and started to flatten my hair. When she was done she wouldn't let me see what it looked like much to my displeasure.

She had a huge grin across her face admiring her work. She rubbed her hand together before walking over to another draw and pulling out contact lenses.

"Have you used these before?" She asked

"Yeah once or twice but I find it easier to wear my glasses." I told her

"Well from now on you will wear contacts." She instructed pulling my glasses off and handing me the contacts.

I quickly put then in and she pulled the same wide grin.

"Hmmm what next? Oh I know!" She squealed

She disappeared for a moment before returning with a massive make-up bag in her hands. Whoop dee do! After a half hour or so she had finished applying the makeup to my face none of which I knew the name of.

“You…Look...So…. Hot!” She squealed

I blushed a little. No one had ever said anything that nice to me before apart from my parents.

“But there is still one thing left to do.” She smiled evilly

I groaned.

“WE ARE GOING SHOPPING!” she yelled making me have to cover my ears

Just what I expected. I hated shopping because I honestly didn’t see the point of buying new clothes every week when you already have the same thing in a different colour. Rachel grabbed my wrist and dragged me out her bedroom door.

“Zachy!!! Can you drive me to the mall?” She called out from the top of the stairs

“No!” He yelled

“Pweaseeeeee.”  She yelled back

“Ughhh! FINE!” He groaned

“Thanks babe!” She called excitedly

Zach drove us to the mall after Rachel insisted that I wore a massive hoodie so he couldn’t see my face. Even I still hadn’t seen my reflection yet. For all I know I could have all kinds of embarrassing things on my face but I trusted Rachel she seemed nice enough which was a huge step up from all the other people I know.

After THREE whole hours of shopping Rachel finally decided I had enough clothing for now. She called Zach and he came and picked us up. She raced back up the stairs to her bedroom pulling me behind her as soon as we got back to her place.

“Now go and try all this on.” She ordered handing me the bags and bags of shopping.

After I tried on everything Rachel patted the spot next to her on the bed she was sitting on. I walked over still wearing one of the dresses I had bought.

“Now when you go to school tomorrow you show those bitches how pretty you are inside and out and hold your head high.” She said softly

“How did you kno-?” She cut me off

“I can sorta tell.” She said chewing her lip

“Right.” I said remembering what I had looked like when I showed up here.

"Don't worry I get bullied to." She said evenly

"Oh i'm sorry. I didn't pick you as the type of person who would get bullied. You are so nice." I said

"Thanks. Don't be sorry i'm used to it and it's inly because i'm into art and dance and stuff it's just stupid." she said in the same cool tone

She held up a mirror in front of my face allowing me to see my reflection for the first time. I gasped. My frizzy hair was now smooth and flat. My huge glasses were now gone and were replaced by the contact lenses. My zits were covered with foundation. My short eyelashes were now long and dark due to the mascara Rachel had put on them. My old brown clothes were replaced by a white flowy dress that stopped a few centimetres above my knee.

A small tear escaped my eye as I looked at my reflection. It was actually the first time in my life that I had felt beautiful.

I turned around a hugged Rachel tightly.

"Thank you so much." I said softly

"No problem. Now i believe you have an assignment to do with my brother." She said smiling

"Oh yeah. I don't really want im to see me like this." I said hanging my head

"Why not you look HOT!" She asked

"I dunno I just think he will make fun of me or something." I said softly

"Rhi if he makes fun of how you look now he would be a complete and utter idiot." She said kindly

"Thanks." I said smiling

"Now get your ass down there and show him how sexy you can be!" She said laughing

I turned and went back down the stairs and found Zach sitting on one of the lounges in the lounge room play COD. He looked up from the tv screen at his eyes met mine. He looked at me up and down before breaking the awkward scilence.

"Wow." he breathed

I still just stood there in the door fame not sure of what to say.

"You umm  you look umm good." He said rubbing the back of his neck

I blushed a little but the makeup covered it.

"Thanks." I muttered

"Do you wanna go and umm do the project now?" He asked almost nervously

I wondered why he seemed so ... nervous but I brushed that thought away before nodding and smiling causing him to blush a little which was very, very weird. I am going to get to the bottom of this I thought to myself in a fake british accent like a detecive. I am such a dork I thought smiling.
