THE BEGINNING OF AN END

Present day Korea

A young, witty and beautiful woman Go Ha-jin distressed, hurdle over a public park. She sits there on the ground near a bridge being lifeless and tired carrying over a soju bottle. Then she notice a homeless man nearby sitting.

Ha-jin's POV

" Even that homeless guy looks happier than me" I thought leaving a sigh.

When i noticed the hobo staring thirstily on the bottle, I offered him the bottle and he finished it in a gulp.

I then ask him glumly "Have you ever wanted to sleep for a hundred years?"

I tried to tell myself that things will get fine, everyone has got problem in the world. But I couldn't calm myself with these thoughts.

"I'd rather never wake up and go to sleep forever", the hobo replied.

Apparently, a bastard left me alongwith my "so called" best friend deceiving me with a mountain of money higher than the Mt. Everest . I regret trusting them and letting them in my life.

While i was sobbing, the hobo replied again " Though if you died and came back..." and settled down to sleep.

I bewildered and collected myself and suddenly I notice a child reaching out over the water, but i ignored it. But a moment later, found him falling in the pond. My first impulse was to jump in and save him, but i told myself that it's not my place and that there are plenty of others who can help him.

But a glance around me proved that nobody is trying to help the child and I ran for the water, bemoaning "Why me again?"

On hearing the sound of her diving in, the child's parents belatedly noticed what's going on. The hobo wakes up and squints up at the sky, just as an eclipse starts to occur.

Ha-jin's POV

I saw the child's father rowing out a boat to get the child safely to the ground . When he reached up to me, I gave him my hand but suddenly the sky darkened and i felt as if i was being dragged by some unknown force.

The last thing i saw was the thinning of the crescent as the moon covers the sky and my visions blurred and a sequence of images flash before my eyes : a couple kissing, I slapping the woman, getting slapped in return, a man splitting us up and siding with the other woman and lastly me being chased by an angry mob.

Ha-jin continued to sink as we reach the eclipse of the sun...
And as the eclipse began to clear, on the other side, we emerge with a rider on horseback whose face is partially masked and is identified as Wang So, the fourth imperial prince of Goryeo. He carries a sword and is headed towards the capital city of Goryeo nation, with a team of riders in tow.
This puts us in the mid-tenth century.

I will end the first part here. I hope you guys like it. This is my first work. I'm not even sure whether people will read it and like it since it's an adaption from both the dramas and the novel.
