~In this story, the characters are encoded into the game. They cannot leave, no matter what happens. They know this, and it is not cruel, they have accepted it as a form of life. You must know this to read on.~

Eternal was a girl. She was a girl, and she let people know. But still, they took her for a guy. Why?

Her arctic wolf had "boy eyes". And, because they did not have definitive eyelashes, she was

OBVIOUSLY a boy. Right? Hint: the answer is no.

Her brother, Victory, hated people calling her a guy. "Eternal's pronouns are she and her. You will refer to her as a female, no matter what color her fur is or how big her eyelashes are, or whether or not she wears swords or or dragon wings, whether she is a roleplay enthusiast or a trader, she is whatever gender she chooses to be. And she chooses to be a girl. So, please, take a hint. She's a she!" Victory was, inevitably, a guy. And, as a guy in animal jam, he was basically god. When he walked into the Pillow Room with his sister, girls would advocate their need for a boyfriend, or how desperate they were for a mate, father, a male, or anything that they did not have that required a boy. And when Eternal was not with Victory (not often), Eternal would hear these cries, too. And so, Victory taught her the best way to get rid of a mate beggar: Ignorance.

Act like you have no idea they're talking to you, or engage in conversation with someone else. They'd go away in time. Usually.

Victory was in the Pillow Room, laughing silently at its usual madness, and Eternal was in Sarepia Forest, looking for someone who knew how to roleplay correctly. When suddenly, a notification appeared in their faces.

"Animal Jam is being updated, come back later!" Liza was smiling smugly at them, and then they were stuck on the homepage.

Victory groaned, "I can't stand this! Now I-" He turned, expecting to see Eternal, then remembered, he was stuck where the Pillow Room had been.

With the mate beggars.

And it would be at least an hour before he could avoid them.

And he wouldn't give anyone the satisfaction of changing who he is and what he looks like, so, he will not change his look. Not unless it is for a really good reason, or he wants to make a look with a new item. So, he was either stuck with mate beggars or listening to the same music over. And over. And over again. He hated repetition.

He slid on his headphones.

^To Eternal^

Eternal sat in the corner of the homepage, away from the terrible cat roleplayers and the phantom sympathizers. She faced away from everyone else, who filled her head with terrible noise. No one stopped whining, talking, fighting, whatever they had decided to do at the time they'd been taken there. They ignored the notification, and she was alone.

"Hello." Eternal looked up, and saw a black-and-white snow leopard looking at her. "I'm Commander SpiritWolf. You lonely?"

She twitched her snout and looked at the ground. "Me and my brother got separated. I'm Eternal ArcticMoon, but you can call me Eternal."

Commander smiled. "Your brother? Who's that?"

"Victory. Victory MagicNinja."

"Hmm. Think I've met him. Black-and-red wolf, dragon wings..."

"That's him. Gosh, he was in the Pillow Room. I just hope he'll make it out sane. Those mate beggars are BRUTAL."

Commander laughed. "That's much too true. Well, How'll we pass the time?"

"Hmm... Maybe... Drowning out the cat roleplayers?"

"That sounds just fine." Commander responded.

Eternal and Commander buddied each other, and soon Victory buddied Commander. What was once a duo became a trio.

But soon, the trio was gone.
