Eternal had gotten a brand-new animal, and she had been looking for it for three months now. The Jamaa Journal had said they had just come back, and Eternal ran for her new Arctic Fox. Once she had a decent outfit, she went to her brother's den, where Victory and Commander were talking.
"... and all she knows is that they're bad. We have to do something about it!" Commander seemed to be on a rant.
About her. Oh, Zios. What'd she do now.
"Am I interrupting?" she asked tentatively.
Victory smiled, "Actually, you're just the person we need right now. New animal?"
"Yep!" I beamed.
Victory's eyes widened. "I can be an arctic wolf now... YESSSSSSS!!!"
Eternal had forgotten about their pact: Victory couldn't be the same animal as her, and she couldn't be the same animal him.
He turned into a fully-outfitted arctic wolf. "YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!"
Eternal was happy for her brother. They both had what they'd wanted for a long time.
Commander said, "Why don't you level up your animals?"
"Ummmm...." Eternal paused. "What?"
"Level up your animals?" Commander repeated.
"How?" Eternal was ready for a scathing lecture.
Victory said, "Adventures."
"What now?" Eternal was too confused.
But, Commander grabbed her paw, and showed her.
Suddenly, they were at a place Eternal had been before, but did not remember when. There was a shop with caged phantoms lining the shelves to the right, and a large portal labeled "The Training Grounds" to the left. A creaking wooden bridge connected the small island they were standing on to a larger island with more portals and a large black volcano on it. Jammers were all around them, asking people to go with them... somewhere, she didn't really know where.
Victory appeared next to her, and it occurred to her that she hadn't let go of Commander's paw. She did so immediately, and, for a second she thought she saw his face fall.
"So, where are we?" She asked Commander.
Commander's smile returned. "We're at the ADVENTURE BASE CAMP-" Commander boomed the last past, "-where you can do adventures, which is -"
Victory interrupted in a high-pitched voice, "training where you learn how to protect yourself and Jamaa from phantoms, earn gems, and other cool and spooky prizes!" He was in a ridiculous pose, leaning over Eternal to put his paw above Commander's head. "Adventures only open by levels, or how many of the adventure's you've gotten through. Don't worry, though, nothing is real!" His squeaky voice got deeper and softer when he said, "And we're sure Cosmo knows that boomseeds explode!" Eternal knew what boomseeds were, because trollers threw them all the time.
All three jammers started laughing, hard, and Victory lost his balance, causing Eternal to fall, followed by Commander, who she purposefully tripped on her way down.
And they just laid there, laughing, and jammers walked around them. Eternal didn't know how long it was, but it felt like weeks.
She wished it were years.
"Okay, let's do the training grounds!" Victory got up, and brushed himself off.
Eternal grew confused again, but by late afternoon, she understood it.
They'd just finished the Adventure called "The Hive", and Eternal was pumped for the Great Escape. But when they got in, even Commander was confused.
That was not the normal Great Escape, but Eternal knew no better. So she walked into the phantom prison with her head held high.
This story would've been updated much later if it hadn't been for @Mrcattywolf , who voted and followed me because of the first chapter. Thanks!
