Allie POV
It was Christmas Eve and I was to have Miles and his family over. Our parents had met several times but never had a dinner together. As my fathers were getting upstairs cleaned up I was in the basement putting up lights and hiding his present behind the couch. I had all the old Spider-Man movies laid on the mantle and i had put on a dress I rarely wore. My name was called and I ran up the stairs and tripped, but I caught my self. They walked in and made conversation as I looked over at Miles and smiled. I saw him as much as I can. He would visit me after school for a hour and maybe two if he didn't have homework. I was homeschooled, and always got done early with my work leaving my self lonely. My dads always say I should invest into a hobby. Try out a instrument, sew something, or as Brendon says, "Write some porn. Either way if it isn't exactly porn you could be as famous as E.L. James." Which would always earn a smack from Dallon. The food was laid out on the table and we all dove in with some small talk sprinkled through that time. Miles father, Joesph, was a tall man.
His mother wasn't as tall but was a nice lady. She's turned to be the mother I never had. My two dads are great but sometimes them not understanding certain pain isn't very helpful. They all had accents to them. Miles was faintly there because he was taught both his native language, Romanian, and English at a young age. We never talked around the adults that much. We are both sixteen and are both equally confused on how to socialize with others around. They all met at the living room at some point, watching the movie Elf but my fathers knew about the present I got him. We were still sitting at the dining room table when I grabbed his hand that was laying on the table, and dragged him to the basement. We sat on the floor on the dusty rug, "Allie I can only go so fast!" He laughs. I smiled at him, "I have a surprise for you!" I exclaim as I get up to get it. "As I do for you." His present was wrapped in red and gold with some blue in the wrapping paper. It wasn't small and it wasn't big. I just knew he'd like it. He opened it delicately to see a picture frame with the NASA logo on it. His eyes that glowed lit up at the sight of it. Miles loved space. "Thank you Allie." He gave me a big smile and pulled something out of his pocket.
"Close your eyes." He said softly. He placed the present in my hand. It felt tiny. When he let me open my eyes I was confused. I kept smiling and saw Allie Alexandria Weekes was written on the name tag of the present. Miles like to use my middle a lot. I ripped the wrapping open to give me a box. I open the box to find it was a bracelet it said 'mele lalea'. He calls me lalea at random, and I've never known what it meant. "I know you don't know what it means. That's the second part to my surprise." He smirked. I scooted closer to him and hugged him. It's the closest we've ever been and seemed awkward, but I liked it. His blue sweater felt warm against my cold arms when the hug lasted a little bit too long. "Thank you Miles." I took the bracelet out of the box and had him snap it around my wrist. "Spider-Man?" I asked and stood up to place the CD in the blue-ray player.
We ended up leaning our backs against the couch as we watched. We were way closer than Dallon would've liked. I had leaned against his shoulder in the midst of the second movie and almost started to drift off. Something caught my eye near the other end of the couch. I grabbed the fluffy white material and held it up. Miles looked at me confusingly as I did too. I held it up for it to show its true form. A Santa beard. "Where did this even come from?" He shrugged his shoulders in response. Then I tried to put it on him and he wasn't having it. "C'mon Miles it won't be that bad!" I exclaimed. He sighed a 'fine' and put it on. "Ah Humbug." He exclaimed. I laughed at him as I reach for the hat, and when I turned his face was closer and we almost budded heads, but the unexpected happen when I ended up kissing him from it. We got interrupted by 'momden' walking down the basement stairs to have us come up stairs. "I'm not going to be the one to tell your father." He exclaims. That makes us break apart. "Your also my father." He shrugs, "He's scarier." Brendon then runs up stairs in excitement, leaving us to quietly follow him.
