I turn around and there he was, standing across the room, the guy from the mall. I immediately stop dancing as I watch him take a long drag from a joint. He didn't look as tan as he did before, maybe because he was in a bunch of shade. He was wearing a dark jean jacket this time with a white t-shirt, dark jeans to match with his jacket and black Timberland boots. My eyes immediately went to the tattoos that were peaking out of his sleeves on his wrists, it really was him. I slowly look up at his face and a loud gasp escapes my lips causing the people around me to stop doing what they were doing and check if I was okay. "Will?" I muttered underneath my breath as I stared at him.
It felt like I got the wind knocked out of me mostly because he was staring right back at me, his eyes looking into mine. I couldn't hold it anymore, my eyes slowly went down and I saw that insanely sexy smirk on his face. My chest was rising and falling fast now, I couldn't handle being around so many people right now. Three girls started to walk past me and I quickly walked beside them, making sure he didn't see where I was going. I quickly walked out the back door of the house and took in a deep breath as I ran my fingers through my hair. Will is here, I can't believe it. He was my childhood friend, my best friend until him and his family moved to London; he was also my first kiss, he kissed me just hours before he left... It was a kiss goodbye, but it still meant so much to me. I can't believe how much he has changed, he looks so damn sexy and handsome at the same time.
I walked over to chair that was on the little back porch and sat down as I watched a group of people a couple of feet away from me smoking, just like Will was. I let out a soft sigh as I looked up at the dimly lit sky and shivered a bit from the wind that blew past me, more like through me. "So, you ran just to be out in the cold?" I heard a deep, British accent beside me and my eyes slightly widen as I slowly turned my head to look up at him. He was smirking at me and I couldn't believe how sexy he looked up close, especially now that I know he picked up the British accent since he was in London. "Umm.." I was still in shock, I didn't know what to say to him. "This is a first, Leigh-Anne Nelson is speechless. Usually you would have a lot to say." He said so smoothly. "Yeah, usually I would, but it's kind of hard to think of something to say to the best friend who left and came back but never told me." I rudely say as my confidence immediately came back all at once and I stood up as I crossed my arms over my chest. His eyebrows shot up, but he still had that sexy smirk on his face. He seemed to be enjoying this right now. "You still have the intense yet sexy attitude." He said as he slipped his jacket off and wrapped it around my back. "Put your arms in the sleeves, you're gonna get sick." He said softly yet sternly and I slowly put arms through the sleeves, keeping my eyes on his the whole time.
"The first thing I wanted to do when I got here was see you, but I was jet lagged and I had a lot of unpacking to do... I just wanted to settle in first." He said softly as he took a step closer to me, causing me to lift my head a bit to look up at him. I could smell his cologne, smooth yet manly, he always knew what kind of cologne to wear just to please a girl and he knew that I am not a huge fan of strong smells. I dragged my tongue across my bottom lip and his eyes quickly flickered down to my lips as I did so, then made eye contact with me. Something dark crossed over his eyes for a split second, but it went away just as fast as it appeared.
"Leigh.." I heard Eliza's voice behind Will and I quickly looked over his shoulder as she looked at the both of us with wide eyes. "Oh umm..." she awkwardly started to back away and I quickly went passed Will. "Eliza, wait.. Umm this is Will." I say as I grab her hand and look back at him. "Wait, THE Will who was your best friend and moved away?" She asked, adding emphasizes on 'the'. A small smirk appears on his face as he moves closer to us. "So you've talked about me, Butterfly?" He asks and my eyes widen as he called me by the same nickname he gave me when we were kids. "What? Did you really think I would forget the nickname I gave you?" He rose one of his eyebrows as he tilted his head to the side, that smirk still on his face. He started calling me Butterfly when I started wearing the necklace my mother gave me because that's when I actually started get interested in butterflies. I loved the different colors and designs on their wings and I still do which is another reason why he started calling me Butterfly. "Well, it was nice meeting you Will, I'm going back to the party." Eliza said before walking away while Will waved goodbye to her then looked at me. "Okay, so I have to know why you moved back here." I say as I cross my arms over my chest and moved closer to him, tilting my head back to look up at him yet again. Something appeared on his face once I said that, I can't figure out what it was.
Fear?
Confusion?
Sadness?
Maybe hatred?
I couldn't put my finger on it, but it quickly went away as he slowly licked his lips and looked down at the ground while he ran his fingers through his hair. "It just didn't work out over there." He said softly, his thick British accent sounding thicker than before. He sounded like he didn't want to talk about it so I didn't push it. "Well, I can't wait to see your parents." I said with a small smile on my face, but it quickly disappeared as I noticed his facial expression changed to sadness then anger. "They didn't come with me." He said as he put both of his hands into his jean pockets and he looked up at me through his eyelashes. I let out a soft sigh as a frown appeared on my face. My phone started vibrating in my pocket and I take it out to see that my father texted me. "I have to go, but please come over tomorrow. I'm still at the same house." I say to Will before leaving him there alone with a house filled with strangers.
