Oscar's P.O.V
I walked over to Jack. 'Hi, where'd you go?'
'Deputy principal wanted to talk to me, then I didn't want to go back to class, so I waited outside. How are you getting home by the way?'
'I have to walk, but I don't really know where I'm going.'
'Oh, well, where do you live?'
'Across the road from the servo on Charlotte Street.'
'Ahhh, Ok, you're quite a walk from where I live, in a different sort of way, but I'll show you, I got no plans anyway.'
'Ok....you don't have to, but thanks.'
'I know all about this place, so if you need help, I can help. Plus, otherwise I'm going to just go home and watch TV for the next 6 or so hours.'
'What? How? In my house mum will turn off the tv after an hour of watching it.'
'Lol, I have a TV in my room and my parents don't really care.'
'That's so cool!' I couldn't believe his parents let him watch tv as much as he wants.
'Yeah, I guess it is.'
'What time do you go to bed?'
'Um....around 10:30, but sometimes it's more like 11:30'
'Wow. That's so late. I stay up until about 9 because that's when my mum tells me to go to bed.'
'That's so boring. What time do you wake up?'
'At about 5:30/6, because I have to do my morning run with dad.'
'I wake up at 6:30 and just go through Facebook. Speaking of Facebook, do you have any social media, or a phone number?'
'Uh...I have my phone, but you can only message me until 8pm, and after 7am.'
'Uh...Ok. What time do you leave in the mornings?'
I didn't really know how to answer that, was he wanting to walk with me, or was he just interested? 'Uh...I don't really know, what time do you think I should?'
'What time do you want to get to school?'
'What time do you normally go to school around?'
'Normally I get to school at around 8.'
'Wow, that's early, what time do you leave?'
'At around 7:40 ish, if you want, I can walk with you to school?'
'Uh, I'll check with my mum when I get home, but it should be alright. What time would u come past?'
'Probs around 7:45'
'Ok, I'll check with my mum, what's your number?'
He gave me his number, and I gave him mine. Hopefully mum would let me walk to school with him. I mean, she doesn't know I'm gay yet so she shouldn't think I'm going to do anything, which I'm not anyways.
'You live a very sheltered life don't you?' He said
'How so?'
'I mean, you don't know much apart from what your mum wants you to. And your very obedient to your mum, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.'
'Oh, I suppose I am.' I guess I was, I needed showing how to get out of that. Maybe he could- no, never mind.
We reached my house and I said goodbye to him and he walked off down the road. I walked inside, bracing myself for the barrage of questions I knew I was going to get. Sure enough as soon as 8 walked through the door my mum started hurtling Questions. 'How was school? How different was it? Did you make friends? Who was that boy? What subjects did you have?'
I slowly answered each question, and finally answered them all, so I went to my room and got changed. After I got changed I pulled out my iPod and hit play. I loved listening to music, it's a shame I've got no talents when it comes to music. My dad has tried teaching me guitar, piano an drums, and I failed at playing all of them.
I just lay there listening to music, when I felt my phone vibrate across the edge of my bed. I picked it up, it was a message from Jack.
