Wake up, do chores, cook breakfast for the family... That was Catherine usual morning, since her sister head was always in the clouds or in her books and their father working on his trinkets someone had to do the normal things around the house. When chores and breakfast was done Catherine would take out her book and read avidly. Yes she was just as book crazy as Belle but unlike Belle she would put down her book at some point and talk to some of the lovely villagers. Though due to everyone talking and gossiping about the family it was hard to just grin and bare it.
With a heavy sigh Catherine adjusted her greenish blue dress, closed her book and left the house to enter the village. Her first stop was the tailor shop as she would usually greet the bimbettes. Despite their obnoxious attitude towards Gaston and how they fall over him they were actually great to talk too. Catherine smiled as she saw the three sitting around the tailors boredly. "Bonjour Adelaide, Elise, and Jacqueline!" Catherine said cheerfully to the three as they immediately looked up.
Giving an awkward smile as Adelaide or what she thought was Adelaide smirk at her, (it was always hard to tell the three apart) "Bonjour Catherine" Adelaide says as the other two waved. "How are you there today?" She asked them as Elise spoke up, "oh you know the same old, same old". Catherine giggles and pulled out her book. "Oh again with that same old book! You and your sister I swear!" Jaquline says with a scoff. Catherine laughed as she leans on the pillar nearby, that was until she started hearing Gaston sing. "Here we go again this song they sing everyday almost" Catherine mutters as the trio squeal and try to capture the captain's attention. He took notice of them for a brief moment and noticed Catherine briefly as she snuck into the tailors to hide.
Good thing Catherine's instincts were good as the trio got splattered with disgusting mud dug up by Gaston's horse. She couldn't help but snicker as she hear Lefou say "it's never gonna happen ladies". They pout and trudge inside to get cleaned as Catherine bid them adieu. She knew better then to be there when they bickered and decided to walk back home as everyone kept singing about how a funny girl her twin Belle was. It was funny how no one talked about Catherine the way they did about Belle but Catherine didn't mind that one bit.
The attention and fame it wasn't for her, she liked her simple mundane life. Though the villagers didn't treat her sister and her father poorly she tried to change their views by showing how she can be considered well normal to them. Thankfully it was working on a few of the villagers as they hardly ever sing any more. Catherine couldn't help but sigh as she came back into their small home. It was a cozy cottage for three, Belle and her sharing a room as their father had his own.
Speaking of their father he was working on his newest music box, a golden windmill that inside had a painter with his wife and two beautiful little girls. Though Maurice was always vague about their mothers death, Catherine new it pained him so she knew not to poke to pry that wound unlike belle who would always ask for a little bit more information about her.
Catherine sighed and sat near the table her father was working on and watched him work. Maurice looking at his daughter and smiling softly, "another crazy day?" He asked as Catherine nodded softly. He chuckled at his daughters pouting face, he knew Catherine hated the attention the family was getting but they could do nothing. Their quirks were what made them unique, though he wished the village would ease up especially on poor Belle who was constantly at the center of attention.
He sang softly to the beat of his small music box as Catherine listened softly and began to day dream. She had her head in the clouds until she heard Belle asking about their mother. Catherine zoned in as Marucie told them how fearless their mother was, but yet again nothing ever came from it.
Belle sighs and dropped it as she helped their father pack up for the market trip. Catherine got up and followed the two outside where Philippe stood ready to leave. "Now what shall I get you two?" Maurice asked his two girls. "Just your safety back home is all I ask" Catherine says with a smile as Marucie strokes her cheek. "Alright my girl, as for you Belle?" Maurice turns to Belle as she held on to their fathers knee. "A rose...like the one in the painting" Belle says as Maruice rubs her cheek as well before grabbing the reigns. "You ask for that every year" he says as Belle pulls away and smiled. "And every year you bring it" she says as she stood by Catherine.
Maurice smiled and shout for Philippe to lead the way, "see you tomorrow" the two shout as Marucie shout back, "right! Tomorrow with the rose!". Catherine smiled at that and leaned on her sister as their sister muttered "stay safe" to their fathers fleeting figure. Once their father was gone from their sights the two head inside, hopefully to have a normal day, or so they think.....
