Chapter 5
Emma pov
When I get back to Megan
She says to me “I’m being adopted”
“Wow so am I who are you being adopted by?”
“Marry and john” “who are you being adopted by?” she says
“R5”
“What you are so lucky” she says shocked
“But so are you”
We play a bit in the sand box but I fall asleep in the box so does Megan
IN THE MORNING
I wake up in my bed I look over to see Megan asleep in her bed how did we get in here when the last thing I remember was playing in the sand box in adoption day I just remembered that I’m being adopted by R5. I get out of my bed and get my iPod before getting back into bed for the next 30 minutes me just looking at pictures of R5 and just thinking about getting another change in life.
Then there was a knock on the door I got out of bed ran to the door and opened it. Jacky was standing there.
“Emma can you please come to the office now”
“Am I in trouble” I said getting scared
“No sweet heart it’s about you getting adopted “
“Ok”
I walked out of the room and went into the office and sat on a chair
“Am I getting adopted by riker and his family” I said worried
“Yes you are that what I wanted to talk to you about”
“Ok”
“They are coming to get you tomorrow at 3pm”
“Ok”
“Will I see Megan or Karl or daisy again?”
“Maybe”
“You are going to see daisy once a week until she leaves to go to England and Karl well I think he lives down the same street you will going to be living in with your new family”
“Ok” “what about Megan?”
“No”
“Why” I said near tears
“Well she is being adopted but her moving far away”
“Ok” I said disappointed
“Why don’t you go and start packing what you can I will help you a little later.”
“Ok” I say while getting off the chair I was on
“Bye Jacky” I say walking out the door
I walk up the stairs and go into my wall drove to see Megan sitting in there with tears running down her face. She looked up at me and pulled me into a hug.
“Megan why are you crying?” I ask worried about her.
“Once you get adopted you will forget about me” she said as more tears start to purl down her face.
“M-Megan I will not forget about you, you are my best friend but you will forget me” I said near tears
“Emma I won’t forget you, you are like the sister I never had”
“Where are you going to live when you are adopted Megan?”
“New York”
I felled tears slipping out my eyes down my face
“I won’t see you anymore after tomorrow” I say feeling more tears running down my face
“Why?” she asked her voice cracking showing that she is trying not to cry
“I’m being adopted tomorrow and I’m living somewhere in L.A”
She starts crying again which makes me cry even harder
“We-we need to promise each other that we will always be best friends no matter what happens”
“Promise”
“Promise” we say then we hug each other as Jacky comes in the room. She runs over to us seeing that we are both crying on the floor hugging
Are you ok?”
“Are you hurt?”
“Do you need a first aid?”
“What is the matter?”
“Why are you both crying?”
“Asker me girls” she says in a worried voice
“No, no, no because we won’t see each again and because we are going to miss each other”
“Ok” she said relaxing a bit more
“Come and sit here girls” she said sitting on my bed me
I get up and sit on one side of her while Megan sat on the other
“Girls look I know you are sad that you are leaving each other but you are getting another chance of life to go and live with a family who will love you and take care of you. You will be able to forget you bad past and start a new life with a family. I know it is hard but you will make new friends and knowing you two you won’t forget you will remember each other and think about each other every day. Megan why don’t you ask you new mummy and daddy to give their number to Emma’s new mummy and daddy so if you want to speak to each other you can”
“Yes that is a great idea” I say will a smile on my face
“Let’s do that” she said happily
“Jacky when my new family is coming to get me” Megan said
I looked over at Jacky
“Tomorrow at 3pm same time same as Emma”
“So we are leaving this place at the same time” I say excited
“Yep” she saying happily
“So we can say goodbye and the same time” I say a bit sad that we have to say goodbye at all
“Yep”
“Girls time to pack”
We pack and pack all day then it’s time for bed the last time I will ever sleep in this bed in this room. In this care home. I smile to myself before falling asleep.
I dream about all the times we had together.
