Matt tapped his foot impatiently

"Now eat you carrots"

"Look at your brother he eats his carrots"
"I love mama's carrots!!! I'll eat all her carrots!!!"
James chirped
You patted his head affectionately

Matt came behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist
"Maybe James should go to...we could have the cabin all to ourselves~"

"Nice try hot stuff but you promised you'd take James into the woods today"
He chuckled

You blushed and caressed your wedding ring
"Shut up and get ready!"

He mumbled something about You and went back inside you watched your son play with a few stones and sticks he looked like he was making a fort a memory swam into your head

You shook it out
"Jamie baby c'mon! Let's get you ready"
He looked up at you a smiled before running over
Half an hour ready your two men were ready to go
James looked just like a mini Matt it was adorable
"Mama when's Melanie coming home?"
You smiled
"Later baby"
Matt picked James up
"Ready to go?"

"Yeah Papa!!"
Matt pecked your lips
"Will be back later Maple sure you'll be fine by yourself"
You smiled
"Yes Matt I'll be fine I'm a big girl"
He grinned
"Of course"
"Bye mama!!!"
James said reaching over from Matt to hug you
"Bye Jamie, you be good for papa ok?"
He nodded
"Ok!"
You watched them leave and smiled

Papa's taking me into the woods with him today!!!! I'm so excited
I love papa so much he's super strong he even gave me one of his shirts he said I'll grow into it
I think it's called a "flannel?"
Anyways!
Papa said we're gonna make sure no ones hurting the animals in the woods
He's so cool!!! He owns all of the woods we live in
Papa told me the woods are important to him
I know papa's a really important guy!
He sometimes leaves on long trips
But sometimes he comes home with uncle Allen or grandpa Ollie!!!
I met grandpa Francois a few times he's kinda cool I guess he reminds me a little bit of papa
But when I told my papa Mama started laughing I wonder why??
Anyways!!!
Papa finally let me walk on my own
"Be careful James there might be traps around here"
He warned
"I know pa!!"
He ruffled my hair
I love when he does that!!

He smiled at me and opened his mouth to say something but stopped
*CRACK*
He furrowed his eyebrows and picked me up putting me in a tree
"Stay here"
He whispered
"Papa what was that?"

"Just stay here"
He ran off leaving me in the tree!!

I hate heights!!!

My foot slipped again!
I landed on my hands and knees my eyes closed
*CLANG!*
I opened my eyes a bear trap closed right under my face!!!

But I felt a burning thing on my face suddenly the right side of my face started bleeding a lot so much blood was coming out!!!
I started crying
It hurt so much!!!
Where's papa!!??
I heard him call my name
"PAPA!"
I yelled
He found me his eyes widened and picked me up holding me close
"James?!"
He saw the trap and made a noise before he started running back home
The world was going dark
I saw papa was he crying?
Don't cry papa!
Everything's alright yours woods are safe!
I love you papa! Don't cry!
Suddenly I couldn't see papa anymore all I saw was darkness.
