Parental Mistake

Chapter 3

In school, Ebimobere  was not the sharp one, in academics and house chores, she was a bit fat and has a very fine shape. Her sister Ebikombere always outsmarted her. She was slow, timid and never made her own decisions, she made friends with people like her, and this made her worse.

On the other hand, Ebikombere was the pretty ones, always smiling, happy and very sharp. She was very slim and tall. Any where she was people always took notice of her, she was just too bright and envy of mother .

In her class, she always came first while her sister Ebimobere was always at the bottom, of her class.
She was the lazy one, while Ebikombere was the strong one.

Whenever it was time to take report card, Ebikenden was always sad because she knew her result would be poor. On the other hand her sister would be so happy. And to spoil her sister mood, she would want to make her angry.

"And why are u so happy, because u want to take your stupid result, then daddy would buy you gala and me nothing. Well happy taking result she would say and leave angrily."

Ebikombere was already used to her sister, and she would not reply instead she would just ignore her.

And so it was, Ebikombere result was good, and she received lots of gifts from her parents and Ebimobere  received nothing, instead  insults, upon insults .

But Ebikenden was already used to it. It was painful but She had to let go. Gradually, gradually , she started growing Ill feelings for her sister, it was becoming worse everyday by day.

She hates talking to her sister, and resented her. She requested her mum shares their food, in two separates plates , and when the mum refused, she says she won't eat, and from there she received lashes of  cane from her  mother, who doesn't play with food, and was getting tired of her character.

Ebimobere, repeated her SSS3 class, and was unable to write the SSCE examination like her other mates, it was a big blow for her, she hated herself and hated her sister more.

Results, for the examination came out and luckily for Ebikombere she passed, her mum hugged her, prayed for her and gave her lots of gifts. Her father then promised to forward her education.

As for, Ebimobere  she was a laughing stock for her parents, some times Ebikombere joined them, not to laugh at her sister, but due to the fact that what the parents were saying were funny.

At times, when Ebimobere  will cook, lots and lots of complains will come out of it, like there is no salt, it too thick, the oil did not done well, etc

But when, Ebikenden cooks, it is the best.

"Hmm , my daughter will be a good house wife, see how her food tastes so well, her father would even tease her that she cooks far better than their mother, and Tina would be like really.

" it a joke dear, we all know that the one who can't Cook is that Ebimobere  of a child. That stupid girl who can't do anything good. I will send her to the village soon enough, Tare would say.

Ebimobere will cry and cry, but when she started telling her friends everything, she started becoming bold in a bad way.

She (Ebimobere ), found pleasures in her friends, who were not good at all, they were the in serious ones, meeting late nights, non attentive in class, and gradually Ebimobere was joining them, she was now even smoking .

I repeat smoking

She had been so much influenced wrongly, she was now so rude and she felt no one was on the same level as hers.

And now, she couldn't stay without it, she was now in a relationship.

Dating different set of boys, and changing them like who was changing her undies. On known to her parents, she was now using a phone, which she uses to browser, and chat. She made fun of her sister that even with her intelligence she has no phone.

"Hey see u, the one and only smart child of Mr Tare, I have a phone and you none, well daddy pet keep ur mouth shut, because if daddy or mummy hears about this, you die."

She stormed out of the room, with intense anger.

Ebikombere was shocked, "was that her sister speaking,  she wept my sister is becoming bad, what is even wrong with her.

All she does this was ignore the whole thing and continue what she was doing .
