I woke up early today in order to see dad before he heads to work ,because I won't get to talk to him since he will be at work for the whole day and knowning him will come home late and too tired to talk about anything.
I had a weird dream yesterday night about mom . She was there in a white robe with a bright smile on her face telling me "Bella , Bella" then she reached her arms to me "come visit me dear , I miss you " her voice echoed . The dream felt like a message from god telling me that I should go and see her . I'm not ready but I think this is what is ment to be happening .
I ran downstairs and saw dad eating his pancakes . "Good morning" I grabbed a glass of water . "Someone is up early " he remarked . I sat next to him and told him with a smile and soft voice that I want to travel to Florida . He said that was unexpected and he can't make a decision now .
He asked me the qestion that I was practicing for . "why do you want to go?" he asked after a second . "My best friend Sandy-" .
"Sandy?" He tried to remember . "Yh the girl who loves coming to your company with her mom ." I answered . "oh that girl ! Her mother is a great employee." He smiled , taking another bite of his food.
"Anyway Sandy invited me to their beach house and I thought why not ? It's summer. Besides Florida is fun in summer " I tried to convince him . I didn't lie ,Sandy did ask for me to come before I even knew about mom , but now I'm even more keen to go .
Yes, I want to meet mom . and Yes , I'm doing it behind dads back . Because if he knew he would stop me .
"I will think about it " He said and hurried to his car and off to his work.
I sighed and grabbed my phone. I chatted for a whole hour with Sandy and I told her everything . She was suprised also excited . She loved the idea of finding my mom . Sandy always was an adventerous girl. She loved trying new stuff so I can count on her to encourge me . We hoped dad would say yes and hung up.
For the rest of the day I kept myself busy painting or reading books until dad arrived late in the evening.
As I expected, he was tired . He lay on the couch and closed his eyes . "Busy day?" I asked making coffee . "long day" he answered . I handed him his cup . Before I could say a word he spoke up "I thought about you travelling to Florida " he said . "really?" I was hoping he would let me go.
"I think it will be good for you to go and experience new things . Also to become indepent and responsible for yourself" . I was suprised . He seemed so sure about it. "But" he continued . I waited . "Promise me not to drink or stay out late or do anything you know would make me angry " . I smiled "I promise" I gave him a hug "thank you!" .
"If it's okay with Sandy I will book your flight for Friday" he said . That's in two days time! I was so happy that I ran to my room ,called Sandy and literally collapsed on the bed .
"Hello Sandy?" . "Yes what happened ?" she asked . "He said yes"I almost screamed from excitmente . "Thats cool girl , pack and I will see you on Friday" she said. I sat down thinking of mom ,wondering how she looks. Is she kind ? Is she funny? I love funny mothers. Would she send me away? I hope not . Oh god there are alot of questions that need to be answered.
I soon lay down and slept .
After two days of packing it was time to go . When we reached the airport dad repeated himself over and over again about calling him if I needed anything , to stay safe and make sure we close the doors before we sleep etc . I understood that he was worried about me thats all. considering it's my first time travelling alone.
"Flight number F24 to Florida boarding now "
"That's me" I said to dad . "yeah" he gave me a hug . I walked towards the gates but turned one more time . Leaving dad was hard , I never left him before. "hey dad" I called . He turned to me "yeah?" . "Don't sleep in the office" I joked . "No promising " He chuckled . "take care" I replied . "you too" and with that I got on the plane.
