Narrator's POV

Mr. Liao was on his way to the café. He usually goes there because that's the only way he can find peace and that's the only way he can concentrate there.

One day, a girl named Ellie approached him because there were no more vacant seats.

"Is this seat taken?" Ellie asked.

"No, you can sit if you want" Mr. Liao said.

"Thanks!" Ellie said and sat down.

"You're working?" She asked.

"Yeah." Mr. Liao replied.

"I see. I'm Ellie" she said as she offered her hand to Mr. Liao.

"I'm Phabien," he said and held Ellie's hand and shook it.

"Nice meeting you" Ellie said.

"Nice meeting you too" Mr. Liao said and smiled at her.

Mr. Liao went back to his computer to work.

"What're you working on?" Ellie asked.

"I'm a teacher, you see. So I'm computing for my student's grades" Mr. Liao replied.

"Would it be nice to date a teacher?" Ellie whispered to herself.

"I'm sorry?" Mr. Liao said.

"Oh nothing. I just.... So you're a teacher huh" Ellie said.

"Yeah, I am. Why?" Mr. Liao said.

"Nothing. I'm just making sure if I heard it correctly." Ellie replied.

Mr. Liao smiled at her. He leaned on his chair and placed his laptop on top of his lap and worked.

At around 5, Mr. Liao packed his things.

"Aren't you leaving yet?" Mr. Liao asked Ellie.

"Well, I will leave but I have no transportation home and my house is quite far from here. I only got here because I rode a taxi but I realized I'm short on money so I told the driver but the driver got mad and dropped me off here" Ellie said.

"I can uh... Drive you home, I guess?" Mr. Liao said.

"Really???" Ellie asked.

"Yeah.. I uh... I guess.." Mr Liao said.

"Aww thank you!!!" Ellie said and gave Mr. Liao a big hug, Mr. Liao didn't feel comfortable with her at all.

Mr. Liao led Ellie to his car and drove her home. Ellie's home was really far, it was 2 hours away from the cafe. Mr. Liao got to know her well in the car.

"I'm sorry my house is quite far" Ellie said.

"No, it's okay," Mr. Liao said.

Mr. Liao dropped her off and went home. It was already 9 when Mr. Liao got home.

"What happened??? What took you so long?" Ms. Lee asked worriedly.

"I dropped someone off" Mr. Liao replied.

"Someone?? A friend??" Ms. Lee asked.

"I won't consider her as a friend. More like an acquintance" Mr. Liao replied.

"Who?" Ms. Lee asked.

"Ellie" Mr. Liao said.

"Mmmm... Ellie... Ellie what?"

"I don't know. I didn't ask for her last name."

Mr. Liao went to their room and got changed to his pajamas. He went out and saw Ms. Lee still working.

"Aren't you sleeping yet? It's half past 10." Mr. Liao said. "And you look stressed out already. That's enough work for today." He added.

"I just. I have a lot of deadlines you know." Ms. Lee said.

"Well then I'm sure they're not due in one day aren't they?" Mr. Liao asked.

"Yeah." Ms. Lee replied.

"Well, go to sleep now. We'll cuddle." He said.

Ms. Lee obeyed him and then they both went to bed and Mr. Liao hugged Ms. Lee because it was quite cold in the room.

"You're warm" Ms. Lee said.

"And you're cold. You should've worn a jacket, you'll get sick." Mr. Liao replied.

Ms. Lee quickly fell asleep in Mr. Liao's arms and while Ms. Lee was lying there peacefully, Mr. Liao got up and opened Ms. Lee's laptop and finished Ms. Lee's work. He finished computing 1 class's grades at about 11:25. He shut the laptop off and laid in bed but he couldn't sleep. He turned to Ms. Lee and started gently stroking her hair, admiring her face. When he finally got tired, he kissed Ms. Lee on her cheeks and went to bed.
