“Aika!” I heard my mother banging on the door. I jumped out of the bed and ran to my dresser. I grabbed a shirt and a pair of sweat pants. I rushed to the door and unlocked it. I swung the door open to see my mother with her arms crossed and tapping her foot.

"Sorry mom." I looked down. I was terrified to see those blue eyes become daggers.

“I need you to get ready and dressed in your uniform. We need to go to Oujihara so we can get your books for tomorrow.” I looked up to see her car keys in her hand.

“Wait tomorrow?” My voice raised higher than I expected. "I only just moved in yesterday! How am I able to join the school so quickly?"

“Seiji and I were able to pull some strings and get you in this week.” She looked at her watch. “I need you to hurry because I have a checkup at 2:30.” She started to walk down the stairs. “Oh the bathroom is the door over there.” She pointed at the door next to the one across from my door.

“Yes ma’am.” I said. I went to the dresser and got the uniform. I folded it over my arm and went to the bathroom. I hung it on the towel rack and turned on the water. I put the clothes I threw on next to my uniform and got into the shower. I let the water run over me a few minutes to get used to it. I grabbed the shampoo in the corner, which I could tell was my mom’s, and washed my hair. Once my body and hair were clean, I got out and took the green towel from the counter and dried myself off. I wrapped the towel around my body and rushed to my room to get my brush and hair dryer. I then rushed back to the bathroom. I quickly ran the brush through my long brown hair while I blew the dryer all over my wet head. When it was somewhat dry, I put the uniform on.

“Aika! Hurry up!” My mother yelled from downstairs. I could tell she was getting irritated.

“I just need shoes and socks!” I yelled back. I went back to my room and found the shoes on the side of the dresser. I slipped them on and ran down stairs.

“You are just like your father when it comes to being in a hurry.” She laughed. She grabbed her purse and walked out the door. I followed and stayed on the porch as she locked to door. I tried to help her to the car but she pulled her arm away. “I may be slowed down but I can make it to the car.” She laughed again. She unlocked the car and we both got in. She sped from the house all the way to the school. I was surprised by no police officers pulling us over. She parked on the side parking lot that seemed to be where all the teachers parked. We got out of the car and started towards the school. It was huge light brown building which looked to be three stories high. I guessed we got there right on time when the first bell rung for the students to go to their classes because they flooded into the building. We waited for everyone to finish going in the before we made our way up the cement stairs. The large black doors towered over us as we opened them. The halls were empty and our footsteps echoed down the hall. My mother swung side to side as she made her way to wherever we were going. She turned down one hall that had a door at the end that said 'Dean's Office'. She knocked on it and a short, blonde haired girl appeared. She wore the same uniform I did and spoke in a high pitched voice.

“Hello? How may I help you?” She asked still holding the door.

“I’m Mrs. Noriko Tachibana. I’m here to get my daughter, Aika Wakahisa, her books for tomorrow.” My mother told the young girl. The girl nodded.

“Ms. Inoue, will be glad you made it Mrs. Tachibana.” She moved out of the doorway and let us in. She went and sat down in a small desk near another door on the other side of the room. “You can just go in.” She said. I was about to follow my mother until the girl grabbed my attention.
