"BEEP, BEEP, BEEP"

My arm reached out to my right as I pressed the 'off' button on the alarm clock. I checked the time and it read 5:00 A.M.

As I groaned, I pulled my feet out from under the blankets, and headed to the bathroom. Running my fingers through my hair, I turned on the warm water to the shower.

I walked out of the bathroom because it usually took five or six minutes for the water to heat up.

Walking over to the window, out at Hollywood. I couldn't really see anything because the sun hadn't risen, but when the sun was up, the view was beautiful.

I started to think about everything that had happened over the past three months. I had auditioned for American Idol, made it through, and now I'm in the top twelve. It was crazy. I'm so glad that my mom pushed me to audition becasue if she hadn't, I'd still probably be at home helping watch over all my siblings.

I had practically put my life on hold for this experience. Sure, I didn't have to worry about school because it was summer, but I still hardly was able to talk with my family. I really only had fourty five mintues of free time each day, usually at lunch. So during that time I would call my family and quickly talk with everybody. But each week I was able to see my mom and closest sister, Hannah-Rose at preformances and elimination. Hannah-Rose was a year older than me, but we're still practically best friends. Yet I had no idea where they were staying, or what they would do during the day. That oddly bothered me a lot.

Bending over, I picked up a few clothes from last night and put them in the hamper in the corner of the room. I then straightened out the blankets on my bed and went back into the bathroom.

The water was just the temperature I wanted it, so I decided to take a shower that was probably ten minutes longer than usual.

Finally, I was clean and was more relaxed than ever. The longer shower was definitely worth it.

I put on some jeans and a gold colored looser shirt that had a sequined stripe that ran across the shirt in a slow slope, along with some blue Toms. I pulled a hairbrush through my long, straight brown hair as I ran into the bathroom.

The only makeup I put on was a little bit of mascara and a tiny bit of light brown eye shadow that I thought went well with my eyes.

Pulling up my right arm, I looked at the watch on my wrist. It was a few minutes from 5:45, and everybody needed to be downstairs for breakfast by then. If you were one minute late, you didn't eat, except for maybe a granola bar or a piece of fruit somebody snuck you. A few of the guys have been late, and it's obvious that they're miserable throughout the day until lunch.

At the same time, I grabbed my purse, room key card, and practically ran through the hotel room door.

The female contestants were one one floor, and we took up about half the hotel rooms on that floor. The other rooms were probably empty. The same was for the guys a floor above us.

No girls were supposed to go up to the boys floor and no boys were supposed to come down to the girls floor usually. Sometimes if you go with a group, then it's okay, but you need a pretty good excuse. We weren't allowed on the floor above the guys, or the roof, before nine A.M. or after seven P.M. There were a bunch of cameras, so it was pretty hard to sneak around the building.

Right as I reached the elevator, I pressed the 'down' button. The elevator door opened a little under a minute, and right as it did, I jumped in and slammed my hand down on the lowest button.
