The only thing left for me to see
The door I’ve shut behind me
The rest of the world’s hearts start to integrate
While I’ve left mine to disintegrate
The only hope for me to see
Opening the door left shut behind me
If only I were that brave
To open my heart to the nourishment I crave
But what of love, of hurt, of loss
At what point is it too much a cost
Opening and flourishing in it’s lovely, warm light
Then all of a sudden it turns to fright
It is then you see its true form
And you could of sworn
It was amazing and great
Until the tables turned showing your true fate
It was never amazing, never great
Just the thought of it had you in a peaceful state
In reality it was far from what you’d seen
Which is why I’ll never live beyond those means
The only thing left for me to see
Is the door I’ve shut behind me.
