The day went by fast. It was soon lunch arrived. You sat down beside Armin and Eren and Mikasa sat across from you guys.

"So, are you getting use to the school yet," Eren asked.

You nodded. "Yeah."

"Don't you want something to eat," Mikasa asked.

"No. I'm good. I don't need to eat anything," you said declining. You didn't have any money to afford lunch. You were trying to save up for tour family.

"Oh. Alright," Mikasa said.

You didn't notice but Jean was looking over and listening to the conversation. He frowned and then turned away.

You just gave the others a smile and soon lunch was over and you raced off to class.

School ended and you were now racing out to get to work. Then it dawned on you that Jean was expecting you to watch the tryouts. You kept running trying to make up your mind but ended up running into someone.

"Hey. Watch it," they hissed and your eyes widened. Mark.

"I'm r-really s-sorry. It was my mistake," you said and went to run off but he grabbed the back of your shirt causing you to be pulled back.

"I remember you from before," he said. "You don't have the shrimp or horse boy to protect you now."

"Please let me go. I have somewhere to be," you said.

"Yeah. Where?" He asked.

You thought for a moment and went silent. You still didn't know.

"Just what I thought," he stated and then shoved you against the lockers.

You winced and then fell to the floor clutching your eye.

"That's karma," he hissed and then walked off.

You sat there, tears falling from your eyes.

Marco POV:

I was heading from my locker down to the football field when I heard crying. I immediately stopped and looked around. I turned the corner and spotted someone crying. I raced over and kneeled beside them.

"Hey. What's wrong," I asked.

"Marco?" They said.

"(Y/n)?"

"Y-yeah...."

"What happened!?"

"Bullies."

"Here. Let's just get you some ice and head down to the field," I offered.

"I can't but it's too late anyways," she said.

I looked at your with worry and curiosity. "What do you mean?"

"I'm late to work and I'm going to get fired and I don't want Jean to see me like this or have to know what happened," she cried.

I sighed and then wrapped my arms around her and she cried into my shoulder. My phone then buzzed and I took it out.

"Hello?"

"Marco. Where are you? Tryouts just started," Armin said.

"Sorry. I'm helping (y/n) at the moment. We'll be there soon," I said.

"Alright. See you there."

"Yeah," I replied and then hung up. "Tell me everything. Now."

She gazed at me a bit frightened and then nodded. "I uh. I work at Starbucks every weekday except Friday and Wednesday for more than four hours after school to get the money to support my family since my dad lost his job and has been splurging our money on beer. My mom and I don't have anywhere else to go and I barely have time to sleep and eat since I need to work and keep my grades up or else I'll be punished and on top of that I'm getting bullied," (y/n) said to me.

"You should call the police if your father is harming you," I said. "I'm telling Jean and the others."

"No! Please don't. I'll just be a burden," she said.

"Who else knows," I asked.

"Sasha. That's it," she replied.

"Why won't you let me tell Jean," I asked and couldn't help but smile a bit.

"Because he's been so kind of me and has helped me that I don't want to burden him even more and...."

"And what?"

"I care for him a lot. More than a friend actually. It's a weird feeling I have had since we became friends," she said.

"Aw......that's cute. You should go out with him sometime," I said and chuckled.

"I can't do that! What if he rejects me!?"

"Well, you'll never know unless you try. Now let's go," I said and we both began to head to the football field.

Marco the Savior. He's just the bestest friend ever
