Kiko's breathing was untimed and her heart rate was accelerated to its highest point, she fumbled over her steps but she couldn't stop herself from smiling, Tristan, her only crush since forever asked her out. Not Sophie, not Agatha, not Dot, her. He asked her to go to a coffee shop, he'd be there, it would be like anyone else's planned date but only better because she'd be with Tristan.
The glass doors intimidated her with its tinted grey hue and lack of sight into the shop, Agatha told her once that you could see outside but not inside and it wasn't a lie. She took a deep breath, checking that her hair hadn't fallen apart before grasping the cold handles and walking in, the scent of coffee was inescapable and so many people sat inside she worried she would never find Tristan. Hester and Anadil- two of her peers sat together talking with deadpanned faces about plans they'd make, Sophie was sitting with some random cute guy batting her eyelashe as she drank water in small sips and Dot smiled behind a counter, winking as she snuck a bite from a chocolate cupcake.
"Kiko!"
Kiko turned to the left and that's where Tristan sat, hair messy but in a cute way, dressed properly but casually just to show he cared.
"H-Hey Tristan"Kiko mumbled
Her cheeks became heated as she sat down beside him on the corner lounge.
"I was worried you weren't going to come..."Tristan smiled nervously
He held out a white rose to her and she cowered slightly.
"It's beautiful"
"Y-Your beautiful"Tristan coughed
Dot grinned as she balanced two cakes and two mugs on a tray sitting them down lightly.
"Hey Kiko! Hey Tristan!"She greeted
"H-Hey Dot"Kiki smiled
"I'm glad you two finally figured out that you should date"Dot smiled walking back off
"And uh on that note, hot chocolate and chocolate cake- it might be too much chocolate but I know you don't particularly like coffee and Dot said that the chocolate cake was the best."Tristan rambled
"It's okay Tristan Thankyou"Kiko mumbled shakily picking up her cup
They drank, ate and talked for hours, Kiko's first date was more than she could ever hope for.
"I had a lot of fun Tristan..."Kiko smiled as they arrived at her door
"Kiko will- can- can you and me be an 'official' couple?..."Tristan stumbled
"O-Of course!!"Kiko yelped with wide eyes
"I'm glad you said yes- I don't know what I would have done if you said no"Tristan sighed in relief
"Goodnight Tristan"
"Goodnight Kiko"
She felt his lips meet her cheeks as they heated, she turned to the door mumbling a light thank you as she watched her once crush and now boyfriend walking off to his house not too far away.
