1999 times, it's a big number, but it always seemed larger to Hort, writing down in tally each time he asked Sophie out hurt over a while but it wouldn't stop him at all. He would stop one day but he didn't really care about the flick's on a page, it hurt his pride but he already had none.
"Sophie?"He knocked on the school masters door
She peeked out smiling at the basket he held in his hands.
"Thank you Hort"Sophie smiled
He didn't know why he liked her, she was pretty but evil, he liked her because he liked her without a clear reason. Hort tugged it back a centimetre as her soft hands reached out.
"Hort?"She screwed her face up ever so slightly
"Sophie look-"
"Hort I'm not interested in dating."Sophie sighed
"Sophie please just listen..."Hort flumbled over his words
"I'm sorry Hort."She sighed
"I seriously love you- you know that of course 1000 times of confessing its hard not to. Then again sometimes you didn't listen...cute ever boys are more important that me." Hort took a long, needed breath.
"I'm sorry Hort...."
"I know you won't say yes but can you at least treat me like a friend and not like a slave." Hort pleaded
"Hort I would go out with you- it would ruin my image though."Sophie sighed
"Secret letters?"
"Sure..."Sophie smiled
Hort smiled passing her the basket hearing a short bye as she closed the door. Maybe he did have a chance.
