My Parents called me into our den I guess they had something serious they wanted to talk about...

My name is Vanessa everyone calls me Nessa. I'm 17 and live in extremely strict home even so I loved my home life. My relationship with my younger sister and parents was the best compared to everyone I knew. I had long medium brown hair with dark brown highlights, slightly tanned skin, blue/teal eyes, and slender frame. I know I'm not ugly but I'm definitely not the hottest chick on the block either.
I would be graduating school early as in a month, I turn 18 in almost three months. I was still completely undecided if I wanted to be in debt for the next 20 yrs meaning if I would go to collage. I planned at least to go to community for two years in business, psychology I still don't know... That's pathetic to most people but its like I don't have clear vision and can't see in front of me. There was no way I could decide my future right now, so that means the summer off to decide. Smiling to myself I was excited to finally have some time off.

I sat down on the sofa turning to face my parents, my mother lounged out on the sectional and looked worried, she was so young looking for her age I hope I aged like her. My thoughts kept wondering till' I was brought back to planet earth to hear my father speak. "Nessa we have some very exciting news... you'll be going to Ireland this summer." I turned my full attention to him as he sat happily next to my mother. "What??" I nearly screamed in excitement. "Why?" I asked. "Well we have been speaking with Nick Callaghan ( A very rich CEO who happened to be one of my father's closet friend) it seems we have been talking a lot of his nephew." I felt an odd nervous feeling but didn't know why. He began again, "Well after much deliberation and prayer we feel that you two need to be introduced." "What are you trying to say Dad?" I felt the edge in my tone but didn't care. My father had always had a sick sense of humor but I knew this wasn't a joke, I was angry. "We would like you two to court." He said in a no-nonsense tone.
I felt betrayed, "Your arranging my marriage?? Sending me off to go live with people I don't know? I'm almost eighteen, I'm sorry but you can't." I said so diplomatically I shocked myself. I could never be defiant but yet there I was acting in a way I thought was impossible. "AS OF NOW YOU ARE SEVENTEEN, he composed himself and went on, "We are sending you in three weeks. You will spend 4 months with Gage and his family. If you are to disagree with what we think to be God's plan at the moment then you can return home after the four months and we will never speak of it again. While you are their even if you don't enjoy your time with Gage you will enjoy his family. They are truly amazing, good, christian people. They plan to show you Ireland. Vanessa in this situation you can't lose. It will be a bright new experience, I would never send you if it wasn't." Dad finally finished filling me in on the 'facts'. I wanted to cry I felt so overwhelmed. "Fine. But you can't force me to fall in love." was all I said before I retreated to my room.
The weeks seemed to fly by I filled them with extra homework and early exams because I was leaving a week before school was out I was cramming trying to fit everything in the little time I had, rarely being home always with friends trying to spend enough time with each of them before I left because they would be gone at collage when I came back. I had finally came to an agreemence with my rents about this being a good thing. I still didn't like the idea of this Gage guy but it is Ireland for crying out loud. I had always wanted to go.
