Aiden’s POV

“You’re … not serious, are you?”

“I dunno, man … iz just .. I ‘nno…” I mumbled, my tongue barely moving. Instead of actually going home and taking a shower, like Noel instructed me, I decided to visit the local bar. There, I found an old friend of mine, who recently got the job as a bartender. Upon seeing me this beaten up, he sat down to talk, and since there weren’t a lot of people in here yet, we talked for a while.

“Look, I get it you didn’t want to go home because it was ‘empty’ and ‘cold’, but dude, seriously? You … went through so much 8hit for the past one month and you’d rather drink than rest?” The man asked me. He was in his mid-twenties, had black hair and dark-blue eyes. Judging by his appearance, he hadn’t shaved from a couple of days.

To be honest, I haven’t, either. My face was like a cactus.

I nodded to the bartender and sighed, looking at the time. It was about half past eight, so there was still time for me to calm down and think.

Yeah, in situations like these, the answer would be more than obvious. Yet, to me, it wasn’t that simple, because the more I thought about Noel, the more I considered Joon.

God, why can’t it just be like in porn videos? You go fix two girls’ pipes, and you end up doing a threesome. Only that in my case they’re guys, but gender doesn’t matter.

“On top of it all, that girl, Cassie … Man, I can’t believe it. J-…Just don’t start crying again, okay? Sorry for bringing this up, but I just … I can’t comprehend it.”

“Another one …”

“Dude, again?”

“Yes. Tequila, salt, lemon.”

The man sighed and made me the cocktail in front of my eyes, giving it to me as I drank it instantly. God, it hit me in the head so hard, but I was actually feeling relieved.

“It’s your sixth one.”

“I can count …”

The man sighed and made me a seventh, after I gave him a look which clearly begged for this. In fact, it wasn’t even a look, because I couldn’t see that well anymore.

I heard people go blind from stress.

“So, which one?”

“Whaddya mean, tequila—“

“Which guy, Aiden? The cute little Sheriff or the sexy ex-prostitute?”

I sighed and slammed my head in the bar. Which one? Well, of course Noel, but … but what about Joon? He did so much for me, and all I’m going to do is abandon him. I can’t do that, I don’t want to do it … I don’t want to see his heartbroken look, I just don’t. I can’t accept it. I’ve already seen it twice, the first time moments before that gunshot, and the second time – when I yelled at him that I didn’t care if he sacrificed himself for Noel.

God, even if I choose Joon, it will never work out. I’ve already hurt him too much. God f**k this!

“I…I love Noel, he’s … he’s like that missing piece of the puzzle.”

“So why are you still thinking about Joon?”

“Because he’s so different!”

“How so?” The bartender raised his eyebrows.

“H-He’s just … I practically jumped him a couple of times, but every time he would push me away and remind me of Noel. Like, who the hell does that? Would you remind me of Noel if you were in love with me and wanted us to be together?”
