On the run

I wake up because of my growling stomach which was yelling at me all of last night. There wasn't anything to hunt. I guess I had scared everything off with my emotions. I laugh at myself, like that would be true. That's when the smell hits me, it is the most amazing sent I had ever smelled since Xavier's mother made us her famous strawberry rhubarb pie. That was nearly 6 years ago; right before she died fighting in the same battle that took my parents. No. I refuse to think about any of that. I'm going to start a new life. Slip into the closest pack and start my life over.

"What about our mate Lilly? I can smell him! Don't even deny it, I know you want to go to him too," My wolf, Luna whines at me. She's right, I really did want to go to him, but if I did would he be like Xavier and leave me?

"I just don't want to go through another rejection Luna. Please understand. Once I get over Xavier, I promise we will come find him," I reply sadly, wishing I was back In my own house getting ready for training like I would usually be doing on a Saturday. I shift into my pure white wolf and start running, hoping to hit someone else's pack land soon. The longer I stay on the BlueWolf pack's ground, the more danger of being caught i'll be in. I'm surprised Xavier hasn't found me already. He seemed pretty determined to talk to me in the hospital. I break into a sprint and run until the sent of my own pack fades, I stop and smell, trying to figure out what pack I'm in. Oddly enough, I don't recognize the sent which is weird since I've been in every pack, so I should recognize it; unless... but it can't be. I would have run into a guard at least a mile back. That's when I hear it, a branch being stepped on. My instincts kick in and I run as fast as I can.

"Hey! Get back here," I hear a growl from behind me so I run even faster making my eyes glow a golden color as I feel Luna start to take over, my feet are pounding the ground as I practically fly through the trees. After a few minutes I throw a quick glance over my shoulder; hoping I lost him, and I don't see anything so I turn around completely trying to get his sent. I don't sense anything so I slow down allowing myself to catch my breath. I let out a yelp as a man suddenly jumps me from the side. We tumble down a hill and land with him on top of me. I look up struggling to get out from under him. I finally get a good look at him as I do. He is wearing a pair of loose fitted jeans and no shirt. He has an amazing 6 pack. I finally move on to his face and am met with a pair of glowing Yellow eyes filled with fury. He has pitch black shaggy hair and he's snarling down at me his canines bared.

"Shift," he growls, I just look up at him stunned.

"Shift," he says again with more power in his voice and that's when my senses kick in.

"No," I growl back mirroring his force

"I gave you an order rogue, now shift," He spoke as if he was in control here.

"And I said no. Now get off of me," I spat glaring up at him. I swiftly raise my hind legs up and kick him as hard as I can right in the balls. He groans and rolls off of me holding his junk. I laugh at him now standing over him and he just shakes his head at me snarling.

"GET HER!" he yelled to who i'm guessing are his guards which surrounded me stunned that I had taken their leader down. I hear cracking of bones as they all shift one by one. The first to come at me was the largest of the 8. He was brown with white spots on his body. I'm guessing he is their best warrior just like I am, no, was the BlueWolf's best. I'm no longer a part of there pack so I guess Xavier has taken that position back. I was so lost in thought he  nearly latched his teeth around my neck but I managed to knock him back just in time. He rolls for a second then comes at me again. This time I'm ready and knock him out with a swift hit to his temple. The other wolves look stunned at how easily I took their strongest down. They quickly shake it off and two of them get the courage to come after me next. The one coming at me from the left has a light brown fur coat and the one to my right has black with white spots. I step back a second before they jump on me and the headbutt each other with so much force they knock themselves out making my job much easier. One of the other wolves jumps on me from behind, and I stumble for a second, but I quickly recover throw him off before he can do any real damage. He rolls over once before getting back on his paws. He snarls at me and charges head on. I move to left a second before he can collide with me and swing my hind legs around knocking him unconscious just like the others. Four down, four more to go. I look around daring them to come at me. A white and grey wolf looks like he is about to charge at me, and as he is about to pounce, he shifts his gaze to something behind me and bows his head backing away before running off. I look to the other three and for a second they don't move, but soon follow the other one. I look behind me, confused and that's when I see him. The man  that I had kicked in the nuts, which i'm pretty proud of, was now standing and began shifting into a black wolf  with a single white spot on his neck which means he's probably ranked higher in the pack

"You're stronger than I thought," he spat at me, "I won't underestimate you again," he says stalking closer to me. I snarl patching his steps backwards. That's when I feel a needle pierce my skin. I jump away, but I'm too late. I've been injected with wolfsbane. I call out to Luna, my wolf, but she's already too weak to reply and i feel myself shifting back. The dose wasn't large enough to completely immobilize me, but I'm definitely too weak to fight this man off. I get up and stumble backwards trying to get away from him. I feel as though i'm about to pass out, and as i'm about to give into the darkness when I get a feeling of strength deep in my gut and that keeps me going. I feel myself start to grow stronger as I stumble backwards. He is definitely scaring me, but I refuse to let him know that.

It doesn't register in my mind that i'm completely naked before he speaks, "You are even more beautiful than I could have imagined. I'm going to have fun with you," he growls hungrily eyeing my body, still stalking closer. He doesn't realize how fast i'm healing though and I use it to my advantage. In a few minutes I'll be strong enough to shift again and get away. I don't show him I'm getting stronger and continue to stumble backwards. It disgusts me how weak I look right now. I've always been taught to never seem weak for anyone.

"What's your name? I'd like to know who the man taking me is." I question him trying to give myself more time to get the wolfsbane out of my system.

"Well I can't tell you that darling, I'm a man of mystery. Where's the mystery in you knowing who I am. Now why don't you make this easier on the both of us and just give into me," He replies then pounces at me. I artfully doge him and quickly shift back into my white wolf. I laugh at his stunned look.

"Sorry darling, but I don't go anywhere I don't want to," I reply angrily. I'm not about to let a stranger take me.

"You're a feisty one. I like it," he growls, looking as though he is about to pounce, "Now don't make me hurt you," he replies, arrogance radiating off of him. Like he can boss me around. I'm too strong for him.

"Catch me if you can," I reply spitting at his feet, but he only grins. With that I turn around laughing and begin to run. He doesn't follow immediately, stunned that I had healed myself so quickly, but I hear him gaining on me a few seconds later, so I pick up speed getting farther from him. I slow down slightly just to tease him.

"I love a good chase, but your'e going to have to slip up sometime," he says cockily. Does he actually think he can catch me?

"I didn't think you'd run out of energy this quickly," he calls after me again, this time only inches away. Just as he is about to catch me I pick up speed again kicking dirt in his face. I laugh pleased with myself and I hear him growl angrily as he starts gaining on me for real this time. I've always been the fastest runner in the pack and I trust myself to outrun him. I don't pick up my pace, not wanting to tire myself out too quickly. When I feel him about to jump me I turn to the right surprising him. It only takes him a second to respond, but it was enough time for me to put some distance between us. After a minute I realize he's no longer following me. I keep running for another couple minutes just in case he is just playing a trick. I start to slow down, still not sensing anything. I grin at myself proud to have lost him. I lay down for a second to rest before I start on my journey for a new pack again. The adrenaline begins to leave my body and I feel my mind start to slip into the blissful nothingness of sleep.

Just before sleep can take me, my ears perk up hearing the crunching of leaves. Leaving no time for me to respond, someone leaps at me and I feel another needle slip under my skin, injecting a larger dose of wolfsbane into my body. I fall over shifting back to my human form. I look up into his smoldering brown eyes.

"I caught you," He whispers huskily into my ear before everything goes completely black and for the second time this week i'm passed out in a stranger's arms,
