Four Years Later..

It was a cold, nasty day. I had woken up from a nightmare.  I keep dreaming about David shooting me..Four years ago, He shot me twice, but miraculously I survived. Four  Years. Today.

I walk towards the kitchen. It's still dark outside, with a lightened tint, So it must be early morning.  I open the fridge and begin to make breakfast. I crack an egg on the counter, and that's when I hear his screams. He's having another nightmare. I continue to make breakfast. I'm just about done when he walks in, pale and sweaty. "Good morning." I say in a sweet tone. "Good Morning Tris. How long have you been up?" He asks.

"About half an hour" I say to him.

He walks over to me and puts his arms around me. He kisses my cheek. I'm very grateful to have him in my life. After Caleb moved away, I don't have much family. Christina, for some odd reason, married Peter. I never really understood that, but she says he's changed after the memory serum. They are currently engaged. Evelyn lives near. We have been getting a little close. Tobias is all she has. Zeke and Shauna got married and had a child, a girl named Marley. He talks to us alot. Mostly about Uriah.  I miss him So much. He was a good kid. A great friend. I miss him dearly.

Tonight is the bonfire though. Once a year, we all meet in the fields and just talk and reminisce. In a few hours Caleb will be back with his wife. I never really thought about him getting married.

After breakfast, Tobias does the dishes, even though I told him I would do it. So I jump in the shower and get ready. Before I put on my shirt.. I run my hand along my scar. It's a little one on my stomach. Were I was shot. I look in the mirror and somehow a single tear drop appears on my cheek. I guess I haven't gotten over it. But I pull myself together and put on my shirt and walk out.
