"Yay, we're here," I say as unenthusiastically as possible while we pull into the school parking lot.

"Oh come on, your just as excited as me that we're back," Lydia said with a knowing glance.

"Sure I am. I just can't wait to get into studying, sleepless nights, you dragging me to the lacrosse games-"

"Ok I get it," Lydia said with a glare directed at me.

I just smile at my best friend and get out of her car.

"What do you have first hour?" I ask Lydia as soon as she could catch up with me.

She pulls her schedule out of her bag as we walk towards the front of the building.

"I have chemistry. What do you have?" She ask me after looking at her schedule.

"English. We have third hour together."

"Oh, thank god. I could not deal with Mr.Harris by myself."

I laugh lightly after seeing the relief on Lydia's face. "Yeah, you would probably be in tears by the time the class ended."

Lydia gave me a hard glare. "Hey, it is not my fault that he is the most evil person I have ever met. Besides you, of course."

"Of course," I mutter before catching the end of a conversation near the front doors.

"I mean this is going to be the best thing that has happened to this town since the birth of Zoe Gates and Lydia Martin," Says a boy clearly in our grade with such short hair you can almost see his scalp."Hey Zoe, Lydia, you guys look-" We walk right past him and his friend, toward the stairs. "-like you going to ignore me. That's-" I didn't get to hear the rest of the conversation as we entered the front of the school and near our lockers, which happen to be right across each other.

"As you all know there was, indeed, a body found in the woods last night. And I am sure that your eager little minds are coming up with various scenarios as to what happened," as the teacher was speaking, I see girls doing their makeup, boys passing around notes to their obvious crushes, and just people looking bored out of their mind, clearly not caring."-but I am here to tell you that the police have a suspect in custody, which means you can give your undivided attention to the syllabus, which is on your desks, in front of you."

I look through my things and find that I don't have anything to write with, so I tap the person's shoulder in front of me, then realize it was the other boy that was talking about me and Lydia in the front of school this morning. "Hey, do you have a pen or something?" I whisper, not wanting to catch the teachers attention.

The boy in front of me just kept staring at me, as if he couldn't believe I was talking to him. He was opening and closing his mouth very quickly, trying to form words.

"Hello? Earth to shaggy?" I say, starring at his long knotted hair with a smirk on my face, showing I was just joking when I really wasn't. He would be way better looking with shorter hair.

"Oh! Uh-let m-me see, hold on," Shaggy says as he turns to look through his mess of papers and folders. He finally finds a pen and holds it out to me with a sweet smile on his face like he won the lottery.
