Chapter 4

     The next early morning...

     At around four a.m, I noticed a red flood of light through my closed eyes as I woke. My pillow was glowing and a vibration was felt underneath it. I slowly raised my head off the pillow but when I looked at it, my eyes were too dilated to see through all this bright light. So I lifted up my pillow to find a small holographic card having a small typewriting, although I wasn't sure where It even came from. But since it was hard to read through a bright glowing card, I simply grabbed  sunglasses off my lamp table and slipped them on. Now I can look real close at the message which turned out to be from Dr. Mars. It said:

     "Dear Ruby.

     Overnight, me and your father have discussed what we must do to get you all powered up
with the saberite. But we had to isolate it from the cube in order for it's cells to be seen, so we dissected it. Next, me and your father have talked about how we are gonna need to get this element implanted to your core. So don't get scared, it's really mandatory. What we are gonna do is that this time, we will perform this treatment in a different way. Since the saberite had really big power cells, it cannot fit the syringe to get it injected, so it's gonna have to be surgically implanted on you. Once you are already awake, please speak to your dad as he will give you directions.

     I sighed and plopped on the bed after reading this. Couple seconds later, I opened my eyes again and looked under my pillow again to find the other slip with the picture of the saberite cells. The cells were shaped like yellow stars with various purple globs scattered all over their cytoplasms with one large pink mitochondria on various spots and one large red nucleus with a yellow star in the center. I took the two glowing slips and put them on the lamp then get my phone to call my father.

     "Yes Ruby, did you get Dr. Mars's message?" My father told me first before I could ask.

     "Yes. On the picture, these cells are pretty strange." I looked at the card with the cell picture.

     "Now, I'm gonna tell you this. Before your upcoming procedure begins, I'm gonna ask you to do me a favor. For today, you can only have one sip of water and no food for a couple hours. You must come in with an empty stomach because your pre-op is gonna have additional treatment including x-rays. So be prepared."

     "I will, dad." Then I hung up and got out of bed to get myself ready by grooming myself,I went to the kitchen to get a glass of water and sip it all in, grab all what I needed, and head back to the lab in a hurry.
