When Scott wakes up, he can instantly feel the soreness of his muscles. He blinks his eyes open and internally whines when he realizes he's been sleeping on the ground. He's confused, did he miss the bed again? He groans while stretching his exceedingly stiff back and catches a glimpse of the sleeping boy in his bed and everything starts to make sense again.

"Great, now I have to explain to the group that this strange injured boy I found in the woods is staying with us because I promised him he could," he mutters to himself, rubbing his face in his hands. He jerks his head, peeking over at the bed, as he notices Mitch starting to stir slightly, rolling onto his side and cuddling into his pillow. Did he wake him? Did he hear him talking to himself? He doesn't wake though and Scott is thanking his lucky stars. That would have been awkward.

He lazily lifts his arm to check the time on his watch. It's currently 7 am. He knows everyone is already outside and eating breakfast, so he grudgingly starts to get up for the day. He throws on a t-shirt and walks outside, hair messy and barefoot. He'll feel more awake once he gets some food into his stomach.

"Look who's alive!" Avi shouts as soon as Scott walks up to them, causing Kirstin to flinch next to him.

"Avi, what have I told you about shouting before noon?" she says glaring at him over her mug of coffee.

"I'm sorry," he responds, his voice trailing off at the end, stuffing some more bacon in his mouth. Kirstin rolls her eyes at him, continuing to nurse her coffee.

"Good morning." Kevin greets as Scott walks up to them.

"Morning, Kev," he answers, sitting down in front of Kirstin and Kevin, who are now discussing something quietly.

"Sleep well?" Avi asks while putting more bacon over the fire, making Scott's mouth water.

"I did. How about you? You look tense."

"I slept okay. I was just worried about you, that's all."

Scott glares as he starts loading up a plate of food. "Why were you worried? I'm perfectly able to take care of myself, Avi." He stares as he bites into his bacon with a snap of his teeth, which was a fail since his bacon crumbled down his shirt, agitating him even further. Avi raises his eyebrows at him.

"You just acted a bit strange yesterday and then you let that boy sleep in your tent. I didn't know what to think to be honest." Avi scratches the back of his neck as he studies Scott with concerned eyes. Scott ignores him for a while as he continues to eat his breakfast.

When Avi continues looking at him, Scott grumbles and puts his plate down on his lap. Apparently, this is a discussion he can't escape. "I don't know what you want me to say? He was hurt, so I helped him. End of story."

Avi frowns. "It's just not like you to do that. I mean, you let him sleep in your tent and all you know about him is his name and that he supposedly fell and was hurt. How can you trust him so easily? You barely even trust us, and you've known us for years!"

"I just do, okay? I like him and he's... he's sort of interesting. I just want to help him out. Is that really so bad? You're the one always telling me I should be nicer." He gives Avi a pointed look and his shoulders lower in defeat.
