The bell rung loudly in my ear, meaning that it was the end of school. I picked up my bag and left the classroom. I haven't got any revision tonight, so I'm aloud to go straight home, thank God.

I didn't get the bus on my way home from school, it was always so packed and I'd rather walk than be squished and pushed onto the floor.

I waited for Lois at the gate like I normally do. As I was waiting, I got a call from her, I answered.

"Hi, where are you?"

"I have revision." She said sighing.

"You can go straight home, Syd. I'll be home once I'm done."

"Alright, I'll see you at home. Bye." I said.

"Bye." She replied.

I was about to start walking home, but I saw a familiar face. It was Luke.

"Hi." I smiled.

"Hello." He said, returning the smile.

"You going home?" He asked.

"Yeah." I said.

"Well I'm coming with you." He laughed.

"Oh, well OK." I giggled.

As we reached my house, I opened the door and we both sat on the sofa.

"So, what do ya wanna do?" I asked.

"Um, do you have an xbox?"

"Yeah, do you wanna play it?"

"What games do you have?" He asked.

"Um, Call of Duty, GTA."

"YOU PLAY COD?" He shouted. I laughed at his reaction.

"Yeah, why?" I laughed.

"I LOVE YOU." He shouted. I know he didn't mean it like that, but I felt my heart skip a beat.

"No, not like that. I'm sorry, I just." He said, nervously scratching the back of his neck.

"It's fine Luke, I know you didn't mean it like that. Anyway, do you want to play then?" I said, trying to break the awkwardness.

"Yeah."

We walked upstairs and I set the game up, we sat on my bed next to each other.

"LUKE, YOU CAN'T KILL ME."

"WELL I JUST DID, SYDNEY."

"I HATE YOU."I said jokingly.

"YES, I KILLED YOU. WOO." I screamed.

"You're pretty good... For a girl." He smirked.

"Did you really just say that?"

"Yeah. I did." He smirked again.

"You're going down Hemmings." I laughed.

I climbed on top of him and started playfully wrestling him. I couldn't stop laughing. It was the first time in weeks that I had smiled and actually meant it;

We both stopped. I looked into his eyes for what felt like forever. He leant in closer and I felt like my heart was going to explode. I could hear my own heart beats. He leant in closer and his lips finally touched mine.

He cupped my face with his hands and I could feel him smiling.

He pulled away and looked at me for a good five seconds.

"I, uh, have to go." He said running out my room.

"Luke wait!" I shouted, but I was to late, he was already gone.
