Sound check was just fine. They only had three songs to play and they were done. Time for some food. Lindsey suggested they could take their plates to her dressing room and she knew his intentions. So she told him she didn’t want to, not yet. There would be plenty of time for that later. Besides, she was afraid the others would get suspicious, noticing Stevie and Lindsey walking away together with their food. They were already the talk of the town since one of the crew members saw Lindsey coming out of Stevie’s room one morning. He tried to save them by telling the guy he went to Stevie to show her some of his new lyrics, but unfortunately everyone knew how much Stevie loves to sleep in and they also knew Lindsey’s family would fly in early to spend some time with him that particular weekend…

After a light dinner Stevie left for her dressing room, meeting Lori and Sharon there who helped her to get ready for the show. They talked about the show. All three of them were a little nervous because the show was going to be filmed tonight. Yes, they were filmed every night by the crowd with mobile phones and small cameras but this was different. Big cameras meant big close ups. Stevie spoke about her worries with the girls. “Don’t worry Stevie, we’ll make sure you look stunning tonight, the make-up artist should be here any minute” said Lori.

Just then there was a knock on the door. Sharon went to open the door and Lori was right, Stevie’s make-up artist walked in and started doing her job.

It was twenty minutes before show time. Stevie walked to the dressing room of the guys for their pre-concert ritual. With her hair straightened, her pretty make-up, and gorgeous outfit she looked indeed stunning, just like Lori promised.

The guys were all ready when she entered the room. They were silent when they looked at her. Lindsey whisteld, like to say 'wow'. This was going to be a looooong night, he tought, Stevie hugged the three of them, whispering good lucks in their ears. First John, then Mick, and Lindsey was last. When their hug ended he took her hands in his and kissed them, this was their own little ritual, one that started way back in early seventies, when they started Buckingham Nicks. When he thought no one paid attention to them he gave her a quick peck on the lips, before he let go of her left hand and led her to the stage.

They walked on stage together, hand in hand, and the crowd got wild when the saw them holding hands. It was part of the act, yes, but she felt so safe, walking hand in hand with him. For the next three hours they were Stevie and Lindsey, the power couple. The sound was deafening when the band started the first notes of The Chain. This was going to be a great night, the whole day had been miserable, but this was their moment, Lindsey thought when he glanced at Stevie. She felt his eyes on her and looked back at him, smiling a knowing smile.

Sorry, this was a short one, I know. I have the whole story in my head, but it takes some time to write it all down. I hope you enjoy it! I certainly enjoyed your comments! Thanks!
